Albumen Pearl is a trade item.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Albumen Pearls are found in Humming Eggs

Albumen Pearl is a trade item and a valuable gemstone most frequently found enclosed inside of Humming Eggs, which are shells that resemble plants.

Game description[edit | edit source]

Gemstone formed over the course of centuries within the egg of a super-incubatory species.

Extremely rare.

Sources[edit | edit source]

  • Albumen Pearls are most reliably sourced in cave systems beneath a planet's surface, inside red shells called Humming Eggs. Taking these will not alarm the Sentinels.
  • On certain planets, they can be found everywhere on the surface inside large pea pod-shaped plants similar to Albumen Pearl Orbs but labelled as Sentient Plants by the Analysis Visor. While these planets usually have a high environmental hazard, this is not always the case. Taking Albumen Pearls from these plants will alarm the Sentinels.

With assistance from a Farmer, Albumen Pearls can also be grown as a product of the Albumen Pearl Orb plant, with a harvest time of 80 minutes.

Systems where Albumen Pearls command a high price (Starred x2 sale price) can be found here.

Additional information[edit | edit source]

  • If it stored in the inventory, scanning pirates will target the player during spaceflight. Many players have reported getting involved in large scale space battles when having large quantities of Albumen Pearls.
  • Albumen Pearl can be sold at the Galactic Trade Terminal for 9,025 Units.png.

Speculation[edit | edit source]

  • A possible reference to the xenomorphs of the "Alien" franchise, as hinted at by their in-game description.

Release history[edit | edit source]

  • Release - product part of the initial game
  • Foundation - plants now register on the scanner
  • NEXT - harvesting pearls underground no longer results in Sentinel wanted level
