Anomalous is a creature genus.

Anomalous is a genus of fauna in No Man's Sky. This type of genus can only be found on planets with an exotic biome.

Creatures belong to this genus can be easily identified by the Analysis Visor, which shows them as Anomalous Animals.

Anomalous type creatures drop different kind of items when killed. It may change between planets but stays the same on any particular planet:

The term Anomalous is derived from the description seen when scanning any of these species with a visor and is not their genus listed by the game code. According to an analysis of the 2.42 game files, the small fluttering variety found on Irri Shell Exotic worlds belongs to the butterfly genus Rhopalocera, while all others belong to the blob genus Lok.
