Toxic is one of the Biome varieties.

Summary

Worlds with a Toxic biome are characterized by a seemingly endless rain of toxic gunk, a muddy-looking surface that is occasionally covered by a bright film of some unknown substance, and a serious infestation of various mushrooms, fungi and highly poisonous and bizarre-looking plants. When viewed from space, the planet looks muddy and has rivers of toxic ooze flowing through. The resources Ammonia, Fungal Mould, Nitrogen, and wild plant Jade Peas can be found here.

A toxic world with pink colors.

The biome type is indicated in the information panel when the player exits their starship. This is procedurally generated by adding one of the following prefixes to the Planet or Moon text.

The sequence is taken from the game file.

Conditions

Some toxic worlds have pleasant skies, but don't be fooled.

  • Hazard protection is always on due to high amounts of toxic substances. Toxin Suppressor upgrades are recommended, especially on extreme worlds.
  • Toxic storms can occur, draining hazard protection approximately three times higher more quickly than normal.
  • Extremely toxic worlds drains hazard protection at the same rate during a storm in a normal toxic world.
  • Storms in extremely toxic worlds drain hazard protection approximately three times more quickly.

When a toxic storm hits, the sky can turn dark and a torrent of poison will blanket the land with a strength up to 120. Example: Hishia 5 of Hishia
