Chaos is a Non-Civilized Actor (NCA).

Summary[edit | edit source]

Chaos is an NCA that has been recently identified in multiple locations across the Euclid galaxy. Their current affairs appear to be currently contained to the Gamma Quadrant near the Lagresb Adjunct. Their reasons for their concentration of power in this region of space is currently under investigation.

History and Motives[edit | edit source]

Chaos and its agents appear to be a relatively new actor in Euclid; however, their motives appear older in nature. While they have yet to be known to contact any modern civilizations in Euclid, it can be deduced that their motives are in contrast to any civilization’s. Many have theorized that they are as ancient in formation as any civilization, developing as a natural counterweight against the rise of civilizations to ensure the natural chaos and freedom of the galaxy. Others believe that they may be remnants of defeated peoples, waiting for an opportunity to return to the galactic stage. In any case, it is possible that in the grand politics of the Euclid galaxy, they may be an opportunity to be used to the benefit of a faction. While in theory this is possible, it should be pursued with extreme caution, as the agents of Chaos’s motives cannot be fully anticipated at this time.

Discovered systems[edit | edit source]

  • Tide of Chaos - These systems are the most numerous of Chaos identified systems. There is little to note of these locations other than the fact that it identifies locations of past movements and territorial boundaries of the elements of Chaos.
  • Catalyst of Chaos - These systems are far fewer than the previous variant. Catalyst of Chaos systems are harbingers of fortress worlds where elements of Chaos are concentrated. These systems are staging grounds for future operations in the local region, whatever these maybe.
  • Chaos Storms - These systems are common around Catalyst of Chaos systems, however their relevance and reason for a different identifier is unknown.

Location[edit | edit source]

Cartographers in the Gamma Quadrant recently identified the largest cluster of Chaos systems in known space. This Region of space is traditionally identified as the Lagresb Adjunct, however locals have began calling it Malevolent Freedom. Malevolent Freedom is located at the following coordinates:

News[edit | edit source]

Observers around the Lagresb Adjunct have reported unusual instability in the region’s space. Locals claim that this is ordinary and no cause for concern for interlopers. Further investigations are expected to be conducted by neighboring provincial governments, however this will likely be hampered by domestic politics.

Intense tachyon discharges have recently been reported in the Lagresb Adjunct. While most of the neighboring provincial governments have disregarded the event as a natural occurrence, the provincial government of the Unjiali region has organized a research expedition into the Lagresb Adjunct to determine the source of the tachyon discharges and whether they are potentially dangerous to the local regions surrounding the Lagresb Adjunct. Critics claim this violates the Lagresb Adjunct’s independence as an unincorporated region.

The research expidition into the Lagresb Adjunct has reported that they have traced the region’s recent tachyon discharges to the region’s Catalyst of Chaos system. The research expedition is now mobilizing to this system for further investigation.

After careful and due examination of the system Catalyst of Chaos, it has become clear that the recent tachyon discharges were from something “phasing out” and to a new location. Great effort is now being directed to tracking where these objects or individuals are now located.

8-5-18 The Unjiali Research Expedition has traced the phased objects to the coordinates

. This location is known as the System Nenuusk, and the planet known as Prehistoric earth. This system is heavily populated by the people known as the Cult of the Atlas. No effort has yet been made to warn this people of the potential threat in their system. URE has now established a base at the planet in suspect and begun excavation of what appear to be ruins of an alien nature. URE requests for any assistance in the study of this location. The URE Dig Site is listed at the following lat/longs: +32.89, +101.50.
