Community Research (week 7) is a mission.
Summary[ | ]
Community Research (week 7) is the seventh mission introduced as Community Research and its purpose is help the recovery of Specialist Polo with Priest Entity Nada's guidance by taking images of various underwater fauna.
This is a time-limited mission and it was available for 7 days, starting from Abyss 1.71 until 9 November 2018. The first part of the mission takes place on a planet called Kofu 31/J2 in the Volandro system.
WARNING: It makes use of portal travel. Please do not forget to go back through the portal when you finished, or you will encounter Portal Interference messages.

Make contact with the Space Anomaly[ | ]
With this mission set as the active mission, fly into space and Priest Entity Nada will contact the player through the communicator.

A portal will be marked in the system where the player currently located. Due to it is a mission-related travel, the Portal Terminal will not require any recharge.
A chill runs through my body as I face the silent gateway. It tugs at my mind with menacing persistence.

Photograph an underwater swarm[ | ]
After arriving to the other side of the portal, the mission objective will be updated, but the destination will not be indicated with an icon.
The player can use Analysis Visor to check for their current location in order to reach the coordinates given by Nada.
Using the Photo Mode is required and after successfully taking a picture of the swarm, the mission objective will be updated again.
Make contact with the Space Anomaly[ | ]
The player will be contacted again through the communicator, after using the starship's scanner.

As Nada mentions Polo's robotic invention, their visor lights flicker subtly, in what I can't help but interpret as a facial expression. It passes so quickly, however, I question whether it was a [sic] just a glitch in the hologram.

The Space Anomaly will warp into the player's current system, allowing it to be boarded it.
The door behind the Control Panel is accessible, where Quicksilver Synthesis Companion resides.
After speaking with the merchant NPC the mission objective will be updated.
(Optional) Photograph underwater creatures on specific worlds[ | ]
The broadcast is amplified and the signal zone extended throughout the galaxy, allowing to take photographs of underwater creatures on any planets.
On the Galactic Map water is indicated per system, therefore the player is required to warp into the system and use visual checking which planets have water.
The planets will require the following biomes with water present and they need to be visited in the following order twice. It is advised to visit the same planets the second time.
- Tropical world, where Star Bulb is present
- Toxic world, where Fungal Mould is present
- Scorched world, where Solanium is present
- Radioactive world, where Gamma Root is present
- Frozen world, where Frostwort is present
