Damaged Component is a technology.

It can be found at various Points of Interest and fixing it allows access to the previously prevented function. In case of the Multi-tool and the starship, the repair restores functionality to the slot where the Damaged Component used to be.

Drop Pod[edit | edit source]
Drop Pod always has three damaged components.

Frigate[edit | edit source]
A frigate subsystem is critically damaged and further damage will lead to the ship's destruction, immediate repair is highly recommended.

Multi-tool[edit | edit source]
Multi-tool subsystem is critically damaged and the slot cannot be used until damage is repaired.

Points of Interest[edit | edit source]
Points of interest have randomly chosen damaged components. Encounters including a pod or container will have one damaged component, in other cases where terminal usage required, will have three damaged components.

Starship[edit | edit source]
Starship subsystem is critically damaged and the slot cannot be used for storage or technology until damage is repaired. If the player plans to trade in a starship, the repair costs should be considered versus the increase in trade-in value.
