Eurus is an inhabited star system.

Summary

Eurus is a refinery star system on the meridian between the Beta Quadrant and Delta Quadrant in the Euclid galaxy. It is the extreme coordinate for the galactic x+ axis and one of the cornerstones of Euclid. It lies directly at The Fade. It is also known as the East Pole.

Between the temporal anomaly N07E24-X20T18 and the Atlassian birthcycle OR23I09-GI20NS20 the former Gek supercorporation was forced out by a peaceful revolution. Today the new merchant republic is represented by Broker Noykan. Meanwhile Gek Captain Hals takes care of all contracts to other companies to import and export materials used in the local refineries and handles the planetary contracts inside the republic. With the inherited horrible security under the supercorporation, the Gek have reinvited their former Vy'keen allies and mercenaries. Vy'keen Cadet Pongko advices them on all matters during their war on piracy. Its success has yet to be seen and security remains LOW to this day. The system is still profitable enough to ignore the loss of mercenary lives, but this time the Gek care.

The space station serves as a local navigation hub which aided its commercial survival during the temporal anomaly and early new hyperdrive era. Today with the corruption of the wormhole network resolved, its importance has severely waned.

History

This section is Fan Fiction. The information found here is not an actual part of the released game, but a user-invented addition to the wiki.

PC Original: Istash-Dilesc

In the past the system was under supervision of WorkGek Oficeri. Despite its symbolic prestige as the last system of the the East, not many came here to do business. And not all 'tourists' came in peace. With the extreme disregard to the mercenaries life, the Vy'keen decided to pull the plug. The honorable mercenaries have all left, leaving only the desperate remnants to die here. No Vy'keen leader has been seen in years. A bad reputation dies hard. Even past the temporal anomaly N07E24-X20T18 the system remained under control of the local Gek supercorporation. It was under supervision of Employee Fatarsa, while Trade Envoy Omet took care of all contracts to other companies to import and export materials used in the local refineries. WorkGek Mappara gave the orders to the local planets and handled their completion. The system was still profitable enough to ignore the loss of mercenary lives and the Gek seriously didn't care... or rather the corporation.

Somewhere between the temporal anomaly and the Atlassian birthcycle the Gek revolted against their corporate masters. While the corporation turned a profit, the local Gek did not and their misery would only end one way... with a lawsuit and an organized peaceful boycott. An unprofitable system wasn't worth a war and so the megacorp pulled out. The new Merchant Republic that was set up was way more lenient and even re-established their old commercial rearrangement with the Vy'keen High Command.

Historic Image of Eurus 1

  • Bile had originally been lost in a terrible terraforming catastrophe during the attempt to set up a colony for the Gek. After the anomaly the ruined world of Eurus 1 had reverted to its past as an overheated dangerous semi-oceanic gaia world. However, this time the Gek don't plan on ruining it. They roll with what they got. A world partially engulfed in boiling water vapour mists of 106.6°C as "rainshowers".
  • Ancowell, was the former Eurus Prime, a caustic world with an average danger of 61.1 Hammett. After the anomaly it had been scorched and fallen dry. Further increases in heat and tectonical activity during the Atlassian birthcycle now led to the planet to become a calm pangean volcanic world.
  • Mazahne was a scorched planet before the anomaly. Today it has cooled down, but a lot of the formerly deoxidized material has accumulated in its atmosphere turning it into a caustic world. The average acidity is 52.2 Hammett during the day... a mild problem.
  • Dune Yasa, the former Eurus 4 was always a hellhole! Before it simply was a radioactive hell. At day the average radiation was 10.3 Rad with 9.3 Rad during the night. Its horrifying alpha storms could reach 31.9 Rad however. It was one of the deadliest planets in the universe! Even today it remains a dangerously pangean scorched world with nighttime temperatures never below 96.2°C.
  • Smos, the former Eurus 5 was a lifeless rock. Since the anomaly its atmosphere has returned, even though the radiation still enters the lower atmosphere. Many craters from its time as an airless planet still litter the surface. It is a dangerous pangean irradiated world.
  • Shell, the former Eroli and later Eurus 6, was an arctic world. After the anomaly it had lost its atmosphere and dried up to be a dead world only to be reawakened during the death wroes of the Atlas when the wormhole corruption began. This turned it into a pangean exotic planet under influence of the Irri-Shell anomaly.
