Exocraft Technician is one of the game's side-missions as of the Pathfinder update. The mission introduces the player to the Technician NPC.

Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Introduction[edit | edit source]

With this mission set as the active mission, warp to the Vy'keen dominated system marked as the destination and go to the local space station and find the Vy'keen NPC to hire. After hiring them, players will then be told to return to their base.

Roamer Geobay & The Resource Depot[edit | edit source]

Speak to them and the player will be given the blueprint for the Roamer Geobay. Place it and then return to the technician. The player will then be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Signal Booster, so install it and return to the technician. The player will then be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Mounted Cannon. Install it and return to the technician. The player will then be required to hunt down a Resource Depot. Go destroy the depot and return to the technician. If the player already has the required resource (100 gold) in inventory, the trip to the depot will not be required.

The Encrypted Terminal[edit | edit source]

The player will then unlock the Exocraft Acceleration Module and be asked to reach an encrypted terminal before the Vy'keen delete the data and the player will have a timer. If they fail to reach it within the allowed time, the player can speak to the technician to try again. It may be recommended to bring some extra Oxygen, Carbon, Condensed Carbon or Phosphorus for Exocraft fuel. Read the terminal dialogue once you arrive at the transmission tower and the player will then unlock the blueprint for the Exocraft Mining Laser.

Upon returning, the player must either lie to the technician about if their family is alive or tell them their family was killed by the Vy'keen if they choose to tell the truth. The choice makes no major difference sort of different dialogue, so save and reload before-hand if you wish to see both outcomes.

Colossus Geobay[edit | edit source]

The player will then next be tasked with crafting an Exocraft Mining Laser and in return, the player will be rewarded with the blueprint for the Colossus Geobay. The player can always just refine Pure Ferrite into Magnetised Ferrite and give the latter to the technician. When the player crafts the Signal Booster upgrade, the player will be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Cannon Upgrade by the Exocraft Technician.

The Monolith[edit | edit source]

The player will then be tasked with traveling to a Monolith to uncover the truth about Nal and the player will also be required to give 100 Nanite Clusters to the Exocraft Technician as the last part of their rite. Give them the 100 Nanite Clusters and the player will be given the Exocraft Acceleration Module Upgrade Sigma blueprint in return. Install the Sigma Upgrade and bring plenty of fuel before embarking for the Monolith, which the player will only have a limited time to reach. Return to the Exocraft Technician once you have reached and interacted with the Monolith.

Nomad Geobay[edit | edit source]

The player will unlock the Nomad Geobay blueprint. The player will then be required to build one and in return, will be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Mining Laser Upgrade Sigma. The player will then be required to yet again give another 100 Nanite Clusters to the Exocraft Technician in return for another new blueprint, which is the Exocraft Signal Booster Upgrade Tau.

As the final step, the player will be required to build the last Geobay, which is the Nomad Geobay. Building it and speaking to the Exocraft Technician will give the final blueprint, which is the Exocraft Acceleration Module Upgrade Tau and with that, this is the end of the Exocraft Technician mission.

After completing this mission, there is a repeatable mission where the player can reach a terminal that the technician is hacking into and receive a large amount of Units as a reward.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

  • When the player reaches the point in the Exocraft Technician mission where they must gather Magnetised Ferrite, the mission log will have incorrect information and claim the player must gather Detritum instead.
