Felidae is a genus of fauna.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Felidae is a genus of fauna in No Man's Sky. The word Felidae directly references the Earth family of the same name and refers general to Earth cats. This genus in No Man's Sky is referred to by a wide variety of names due to its equally wide variety of appearances. Common names include "cats," "dogs," and "boars/pigs," all due to this genus's resemblance to Earth organisms. Species from this genus often look like Earth organisms with some exotic elements added. For example, a cat with a spiked shell, or a dog with "wings."
Major Variants & Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Although the physical appearance is widely varied, Felidae only has two major variants: the bipedal and quadrupedal variants. These species are identical in most ways as far as their physical appearance goes, but the bipeds walk on two legs in a somewhat "clumsy" or unsure fashion, while the quadrupeds move like felines or canines from Earth biology.
- Four limbs. Quadrupeds walk/run on all four, bipeds walk on their hind legs while the forelimbs mostly just hang at their sides.
- Two eyes and a mouth, a tail, usually two ears.
- Usually four distinctly visible canine teeth when their mouths are open, except in the case of boar-like species.
- Usually canine/feline-like feet.
