NMS Olympics
Summary[ | ]
The No Man's Sky Olympics a.k.a Euclid Intergalactic Olympics was presented and hosted by the Amino Hub. It was created as a multiplayer event by the Amino Hub Ambassador SpaceArtGek aka SodaconRocks as an idea for the United Federation of Travelers to compete under their civilization emblems[1].
The event featured a variety of live streams on Twitch/Youtube between November 4th and December 3rd 2017. Athletes gathered in the region of the Ocopad Conflux where it was hosted at various systems near the Pilgrim Star.
The slogan for of games was Community, Adventure, Discovery". Every event featured packed streams and players competing in different challenges on the PS4 platform in all 3 game modes. The 2nd Annual 2018 Olympics will be held August 4th through September 2nd hosted by the Amino Hub in collaboration with the NMS ICC at various locations and galaxies.

There are many others who contributed in the success of this event and took part in the games, creating live streams and building bases at the Amino Hub and providing ideas and feedback.
Traveling to the Pilgrim Star[ | ]
To help prepare and travel to the games, players had the following options:
- Warp in via Black Hole Roulette
- Portal to the Amino Hub through the AHAHAH -AH Port System
- Travel to the Ocopad Conflux via Terminus if you already have one set up.
- If you plan to travel to the Pilgrim Star via warp then it's recommended to use Pahefus app
Players were assisted with traveling to the Ocopad Conflux via the No Man's Sky Amino Hub App and were encouraged to travel to the Ocopad Conflux (aka Pilgrim Star) early to practice on race tracks and at event sites.
Rules[ | ]
- Competing civilizations will be expected to maintain sportsmanlike conduct during the games
- No trolling or harassment of other players or civilizations of any kind will be acceptable during the broadcasts, or in the Olympic region of the Ocopad Conflux, in the regions of any other space civlizations or at any events leading up the games.
- Civilizations or independents found to be in violation of these rules can expect to be either removed from the broadcast, have their medals revoked.
Medals[ | ]
Gold Medal winners will receive custom lapel pins and a special mention on the No Man's Sky Amino Hub app featured post. Silver and Bronze medal winners will receive a special mention on the No Man's Sky Amino Hub app featured post.
Additional prizes and pins are currently being considered and prepared before the start of the games. ETA on pin delivery is mid February.

These rankings sort by the number of gold medals, earned by each player. The number of silver medals is taken into consideration next and then the number of bronze medals. The Opening Ceremony at Amino Prime
- Description: All civilized space groups and athletes gather for a party and introduction to the games in the Capital System of the Amino Hub. A huge party will commence on the planet of Zen where players are welcome to drop comms, drive exocraft and communicate via chat. The ceremony concludes with the first event, a race around the system of Amino Prime.

The Race Around Amino Prime. This was the first recorded solar system race in No Man's Sky
- Description: (All Modes) A solar system race starting at the space station and circling each planet of Amino Prime - designed by NMS Survival Guru. In order to compete in the race players must be in their spaceships and docked at the space station for the go signal.

Zoo Scan Challenge (Complete)[ | ]

- Description: (Normal and Survival Mode) All players start at the same space station and fly to the designated zoo scan planet. Each player will try to scan as many animals as possible before the time limit or until all animals are scanned. The player with the most scans wins the round. Participating players will be required to live stream this match and meet up at Amino Prime so that they can warp to the nearby designated zoo system. Players must also join a ps4 party chat with ps4 user: sodacon 20 minutes prior to the event.

Portal Relay Race (Complete)[ | ]
The athletes gather at the start of the Portal Relay Race
- Description: (Any Mode) Up to 5 teams/individuals meet at the portal. The first member is given a set of coordinates they have to convert to Glyphs (announced once all teams are ready at the event portal). The first player goes through the portal and collects another coordinate from a comm ball. The player then goes back through the portal and tells the second person who converts it to glyphs and goes through. This process repeats itself until the last player comes back through the portal and correctly says the phrase found on the last comm. (Rule: No Exocraft)

Players 1. Locate a lore fragment 2. Extreme Survival 3. Brief Creature Hunt (Lore fragment provides which) 4. Locate the hidden Dark Tower locations provided in fragment 5. Complete by racing nomads at the Dark Tower in creative mode. We've had to remove the portal glyph for this event as we discovered it was bugged and would send travelers to random Ocopad systems. OcoShark Survival (Complete)[ | ]
OcoShark Survival
Description: Each match is timed at 10 minutes. Two or more players enter in the same Shark infested pool on the planet Land o Lakes with limits and rules:
- No use of multitool or attacking the shark with melee allowed
- If a player uses their jetpack to escape sharks and the water for more than 3 seconds they are docked a point.
- Players want to avoid taking too many bites from the sharks, however taking bites is also part of the competition. When a player takes bites from the shark they gain a point.
- Players are required to YouTube or live stream their match so that it can be reviewed and scored by the judges.
This event is a 4 minutes and 17 second exocraft ride from the portal or a 15 minute walk. There will be two lakes available for the competition on the planet Land o Lakes. One of the lakes has 2 sharks and the other has 3.
