Racian is a planet in the Aforts star system, which is located in the Aslees Boundary region of the Eissentam galaxy on the PS4 version of No Man's Sky universe.

Racian was discovered on 01 September 2018 by explorer roytheodd.

Description[ | ]

Racian is a classic example of a barren planet. The land is dry and parched with dust swirling through the air. There are cacti and trees and boulders of various sizes. The topography is rocky, allowing brown stones to peek out from under the ubiquitous coating of orange soil. The planet has pleasant daytime temperatures that peak at 99.3°F/37.4°C, but as soon as the sun has set Hazard Protection triggers and nights get to a teeth-chattering -60.1°F/-51.2°C. Once every sol or so a firestorm baths the planet with temperatures of 244.2°F/117.9°C. Perhaps the most interesting feature of Racian is its diagonal caves. Whereas typical caves are tubes that mosey through the underground, Racian has many caves that are wide open spaces with low ceilings and that parallel hillside slopes. The effect is caves with greater than average vertical changes and which often require the use of the jetpack to navigate.

The points of interest on Racian seem to come in clusters. It is possible to fly great distances without finding any and to then find many within walking distance of each other. Discovered points of interest include Depots, Drop Pods, Trading Posts, uninhabited camps, and lone Waypoints. There is a steady supply of Knowledge Stones as well.
