Conatus Mortem is a player base.

Summary[ | ]

Conatus Mortem is a base in No Man's Sky created by NMS Player 'Skell'. Skell was better known Reaction Faction and his travels across Euclid became part of No Man's Sky lore and history in the latter stages of the Pathfinder Era. He was pursued by a number of players on PC, who also attempted to preempt his movements and course so as to arrive at destinations before him and make contact.

As this localised event became better known and more widely publicised, many speculated that Reaction Faction was a legitimate (and HG sanctioned) part of the transition from the Pathfinder era to the Atlas Rises Era. Eventually the interest in Reaction Faction evolved into anti-sentiment and hostility on various social media platforms. Reaction Faction ended his project and left this base behind with instructions to 'do with it as you will'.

Pathfinder Era[ | ]

A build during the Pathfinder era, this base was located on the planet Memento Mori, a lush planet biome discovered by Skell on August 12th 2016.

Atlas Rises Era[ | ]

The universal reset changed the biome of the planet Memento Mori from lush to winter biome.

The planet known as Memento Mori has since been reset and is now known as Hobayamegawa. It is noted as having been discovered by PC player juliandaffern of the Galactic Heritage Archive.

The base structure remains visible at its original location. All comms balls are present and all interactable items are in working order.

Heritage Status[ | ]

The site has been recognised as an official Galactic Heritage Site by the Galactic Heritage Archive. This was awarded on the basis of it's significance to the lore and history of the Pathfinder era.
