Smyrno is a planet.

Summary[ | ]

Smyrno is the second planet in the HUB10-K-5F Foundation system. It lies 456,005ks from the system’s space station.

It is a fairly typical scorched planet of medium size, featuring unremarkable flora and fauna. The surface is a visual reflection of the arid weather: yellow, pockmarked top strata blends with scarlet-red stone in serpentine formations running over low hills and medium-sized mountain ranges. In many places where the serpentine formations intersect with the hills, broad, flat spaces can be found, perfect for landing and surveying the surrounding regions. For all its bothersome heat and sparse flora and fauna, however, the planet boasts a surprisingly high population, settled across the surface in frequently-encountered bases and outposts.

Atmosphere and climate[ | ]

Daytime temperatures on Smyrno reach 65.1 °C, warm enough to stress an exosuit's heat shield. Nighttime temperatures drop to 31.3 °C. Dry, dusty winds crisscross the landscape, but almost never rise to storm gales.

Smyrno features a wide variety of ancient ruins, indigenous language posts, and typical observatories and Transmission Towers. Several are not far west from the planet’s primary Trading Post, including the Ashes of the Rotmosina-Aixo (ruin); Shakhari Plateau (observatory), and Delvano Outpost and Kalborg Science Station. A small, crashed shuttle pod can be located by waypoint scan, though it barely offers enough to be worth the effort.

Smyrno Base - 3 Planets — Habitable base on Smyrno

Smyrno Station is located just south of the equator on the side of the planet opposite the space station.

Smyrno's habitable base stands in the center of a depressed plateau at the end of a serpentine hill formation. Facing west, the location offers a splendid view of all four of the other planets in the Foundation system.
