The Galactic Network of Systems is a member of the Civilized Space community.

Summary[ | ]

The Galactic Network of Systems is a union of systems galaxy-wide, and a member of the United Federation of Travelers. After the Atlas Rises catastrophe, it has been reborn as the Arcsinx Nexus.

The GNS has a confirmed presence in the Hilbert Dimension.

Galactic Network of Systems / Arcsinx Nexus was a member of the Federation until Visions.

The Flotilla[ | ]

The Galactic Network of Systems has little military besides the Flotilla, a small but well trained fleet of hardened military vessels which, during times of peace, double as research and trade vessels for the GNS. Also, as the GNS is so spread out, the Flotilla also acts as a mobile capital, travelling to the far reaches of the GNS to enforce and protect the frontier colonies. Like the rest of the GNS, the Flotilla's origins are largely unknown and shrouded in folklore, but it's name dates back to before the formation of the GNS, when it was a small group of nomads travelling across Euclid together. The Flotilla has come a long way from those humble origins and is now one of the reasons why the Galactic Network of Systems is a major force within the Federation.

Lore[ | ]

A quiet and growing force in the Euclid, the GNS has seen the peaceful and chaotic times of new and old.

The GNS origins date back to the year 340 B.H. A time of peace and prosperity. A Golden Age as many have called it. GNS was nothing more than a small explorer group that called themselves "Intergalactic". A group of Interlopers that traversed the Euclid together. Some made it to the center, others stayed back to explore and conquer. But even then, no one knew the calamity in store for them.

Approximately 250 years B.H, The Storm struck the Universe. A virus so powerful and hated that it could kill even an Interloper. It could destroy an Interlopers ability to regenerate. It killed many, and ravaged the galaxy. Intergalactic was all but wiped out. The once mighty group, whittled down to less than 10 poor souls. Intergalactic never released the hope that the Interloper could become great again. To rise to another Golden Age.

250 years after the Storm claimed its first victim, the Galactic Hub was founded. A safe haven for all Interlopers. The GNS nor Intergalactic was never a thought. One member had grand thoughts of building his own empire. To be recognized among the Interloper who walked the Pilgrim Star and the Founders of the Hub. This man was Martín. Intergalactic would rise again he thought, he believed that he could in fact be a great leader. A hero to all those Interlopers seeking refuge. It never worked in his favor. Time and time again, power eluded him. His own quest for power made it harder for him to reach it. It seemed impossible, until the year 104 F.E. The Harsh-Buds War broke out in the Gamma Quadrant and the Hub became tattered. New empires and nations had risen. This was his chance. He along with his best friend saw there opportunity to make their own safe haven. The Galactic Network.

While he may have founded it, he was never an Interloper to not allow a fair decision. He decided to have elections for a GNS leader. Pulling the strings his own way, there came a power struggle within the infant GNS. A new competitor. An Interloper from the region of Nefaxisrap. There came a cry for action against Hova and Bez-Harr, and Nefaxisrap was going to do it. No peace. Ruthlessness to the fullest degree. It gained popularity and Martíns wishes of power seemed to grow dim. "They were mercenaries he thought, they will ruin it all!" Then he did it. Power corrupts all. It corrupts so much that we are willing to do things we would have never thought. Martín never thought he could kill one of his own, until he did. Not even a hello or goodbye. One boltcaster shot is all it took, and he was now "Lord Interloper". Nefaxisrap was purged, leaving no opponents or potential revolutionaries. The GNS soon became a peaceful Federation. One all around the galaxy could enjoy. The Flotilla appeared shortly after Martín became Lord, and peace soon came over the galaxy once again. Many new Federations were born, all the time Martín looks down and reminisces on his success.

Death, Pain, Glory. It was all the same to him. He ruled. It's all that matters to him in the long run. He couldn't care less about his nations and unions. He gained power through death, and is not afraid to keep it that way. Even if it means stepping back on what the GNS was founded on. Peace.

Government[ | ]

The Network has four seats of government:

  • The Seat of Power, which is wherever the capital planet is in the GNS and is where most, if not all, executive decisions for the GNS is made (Currently, the planet of Yuvartel).
  • The Seat of Judgement, where the Seat of Power judges criminals who have committed crimes against the GNS, The Federation, or any of its nations (Currently, the planet Surijan)
  • The Seat of Trade, where most of the trade, economic, and unit negotiation take place (Currently, the lush moon of Kushimaro, though this is suspected to be changed as Sentinels move in to GNS systems).
  • The Flagship of the Flotilla, A mobile capital that rules and represents the frontier regions of the GNS (Areas outside of the Kracamelaw Adjunct), whilst doubling as the GNS' military.
