Summary[edit | edit source]

Getting Around is a display page referenced by the Game Content page.

  • Information appearing in DLC Synthesis is presented here.

Exploring on Foot[edit | edit source]

  • In hazardous conditions, use caves and buildings to shelter and recharge your Hazard Protection.
  • Use a Multi-Tool Terrain Manipulator to create your own shelter.
  • Your compass is at top of the HUD. It shows the position of nearby interesting objects and mission objectives. Use the Analysis Visor (Key F) to find buildings and valuables resources.
  • Constructing and using a Signal Booster will always point you towards the nearest building.
  • Sprinting (L Shift) will allow you to travel faster for a short time, but will also drain your life support faster.
  • The Jetpack (Space) can also be used to cover difficult terrain. The Jetpack recharges automatically while on the ground. The Jetpack can be used to scale cliffs even when uncharged.
  • WARNING: Your jetpack can only be used in short bursts. Falling from great heights will cause damage. Save jetpack fuel to soften the impact.

The Terrain Manipulator[edit | edit source]

  • The Terrain Manipulator is a powerful Multi-Tool upgrade. Once installed, use Key G to activate the Terrain Manipulator.
  • The Terrain Manipulator can be used to create your own shelter as you explore, in the form of simple caves or elaborate rock structures.
  • The Terrain Manipulator is vital for the mining of large resource deposits. Such deposits include copper and can be located with the Analysis Visor.
  • Terrain will conform to buildings, allowing the creation of bases embedded in the rock.
  • Use to toggle between placement and deletion. Key T/Key R changes the size of the edit, undoes previous edits.

Flying the Starship[edit | edit source]

  • Press and hold Key W to propel your ship. Use Key S to brake. Hold L Shift to boost. Normal flight does not require fuel. You will travel much faster when outside of a planet's atmosphere.
  • In space, use the Pulse Engine (Key A & Key D) to travel faster. The Pulse Engine requires Tritium to charge. Find Tritium by destroying asteroids in space.
  • The Pulse Engine cannot be used near Space stations. Pirates may temporarily disable the Pulse Engine during an attack. To escape, survive until it comes back online.
  • The ship's HUD will alert you when the Pulse Engine is offline.
  • Use the Hyperdrive to travel to a new star system. Craft Warp Cells using Antimatter Housing and Antimatter to power the hyperdrive.
  • To travel to a new system, open your Galaxy Map (Key X). Select a system and use LPM to engage the hyperdrive.
  • Star systems are colour graded: Yellow, Red, Green and Blue. Non-yellow systems require upgraded hyperdrive technology to visit.
