Independence is a star system in No Man's Sky.
Summary[ | ]
Independence is a star system in the No Man's Sky universe.
The system once contained the Euclid Wormhole, which allowed travel between the Milky Way and Euclid and was widely used by the United States to establish colonies in the Rohmadgh Nebula. The first colony to be established, Plymouth, was constructed in 2084 on New Cascadia, the only planet in the Independence system.
Plymouth was attacked two times by the Sentinels - the first, during the Battle of New Cascadia, saw an American victory after the sentinel fleet was driven off. The second saw the shutdown of the Euclid Wormhole and the near destruction of the Republic Starfleet and the United States of New Cascadia. The planet was glassed after the second battle, destroying Plymouth Colony and killing every colonist who had not been evacuated on the USS Congress.
