Isengard is a planet in the HUB1-21 TopOfTheTree3 system.

Summary[ | ]

Isengard is a radioactive planet orbiting a yellow star in the HUB1-21 TopOfTheTree3 system. The widespread presence of decaying uranium isotopes in surface minerals poses a slight radiation hazard for travelers. Some residents have adapted by building homes underground, where this radioactivity is dampened.

Due to the heat released from radioactive decay, the temperature on the surface is significantly warmer than the lower crust, resulting in an unusual geologic cycle wherein solid rock is forced upwards into mountains through tectonic activity, then baked into mud which slumps down into the valleys. Because most of the planet's heat comes from this constant radiation rather that from its star, the atmosphere is largely stagnant and no large-scale weather patterns have been observed.
