It is a giant damp weathered ocean planet containing one moon and sprinkles of palms and lush green grass. It is the only celestial body in the Black Hole system without extreme weather although it is subject to occasional scalding cloudbursts.

Crashed Hauler found on the Island Links planet

On 10/12/2017 SpaceArtGek visited an old beacon from Pathfinder and found a location to scan for a crashed ship. The result led to this A Class 48 Slot Hauler which can be picked up by players at the crash site. It was catalogued as the Merinakwa S87 in the Starship Catalogue for Haulers.

Gekstories Background[edit | edit source]

Island Links planet is the original setting of the base on "Gekstories", a series of stories written by player SpaceArtGek on the NMS the Amino Hub app since the Foundation update, featuring his travels to the Starfall system.

Gek returned to the system shortly before the Atlas Rises update and featured the planet in a trilogy story "Return to Island Links". At first Gek thought it may be the only known system in No Man's Sky to date that has retained it's original characteristics, until he came across similar systems such as -Nexus Eagle- -AH- in the Ocopad Conflux. This made for a new theory that the update didn't affect some systems, yet more studies were required on other black hole systems from Pathfinder. The other one Gek had explored in Ocopadica could no longer be found in the nearby Aezei Terminus.

SpaceArtGek continues to feature the stories about Island Links in his "gekstories" on the NMS the Amino Hub wiki and has called the planet a "Last bastion of hope in a changed Universe".
