Juato is a star system.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Juato is a desolate manufacturing star system on the outer rim of the Delta Quadrant in the Euclid galaxy.

The system is under control of the Vasho Ascendancy and supervised by Resource Analyst Lamk. While there is no productive industry to speak of yet, the Vasho Ascendancy has claimed the system in an effort to colonize Juato Prime. Unlike Juato 1A which is a radiated wasteland with little flora and resilient fauna on the surface, Juato Prime is a habitable and proud ocean world. It is a perfect candidate for a new homeworld. As a young system with low infrastructure, Juato is not able to repel their local enemies and while the Vasho Ascendancy promised to supply the needed goods, their fleets do not guarantee protection to visitors that are decidedly non-Gek. The security level is LOW!

Aboard the space station respected trade partners have the chance to access the local greenhouse for biofuel or the botanic garden for food. The station is mostly accomodated to supply the fledling colony with food.

Planets & Moons[edit | edit source]

  • Sewul Omaga is an unremarkable and cold planet. Its thick atmosphere reflects most of the rays from the nearby sun, forcing the temperature down to -62.4°C, even during the day. Juato 1A is its moon. Unlike its nurturing mother, Juato 1A is a radiated ocean wasteland. During the day the atmosphere gets irradiated by solar particles to 9.4 Rad and when the sun's wrath subsides, the remaining radiaten gets remitted, turning the night to an even deadlier 11 Rad. The night is far more dangerous than its day. The real problem are the common solar flares, however. When the sun picks up, regardless of day or night, the radiation shots to 31.3 Rad. During the night, the magnetic shield of Sewul Omaga will push all radiation right behind it and onto its child. There is no hope for this moon. Even the sea accumulated a deadly permanent radiation of 10.9 Rad.
  • Shimura is another cold planet in the system, unable to collect the sun's warmth due to its thick protection. Its moon Shimura Okakon has a greenhouse atmosphere in comparison. Instead of being too cold, this planet doesn't drop below 60.5°C during the day. Neither is truly hospitable.
  • Juato Prime is the true pearl of the system. Rich in vegetation and fauna above and below the water, the Gek have decided to make a new home for themselves. Without the storms it could be a true Gaia world. Its moon Orari has common acid storms. While it also lies in the habitable zone, the weaker atmosphere of the moon has turned its atmosphere into the sun's chemical lab. A base acidity of 55.2 Hammett can be experienced in the air, climbing to 107.7 Hammett during its supposed toxic superstorms. For hardened Travellers and entrepeneurs, that storm is barely worth mentioning, let alone super. But it is enough to frighten and dissuade the unprepared.
