A heavy, oozing slime. It is moving gently, as if it has a heartbeat of its own.
Nutrient source: unknown.

Living Slime can be acquired in several ways:
- purchased and sold at Galactic Trade Terminals and NPCs for a profit.
- found in alien-infested Derelict Freighters.
- sometimes dropped when killing fauna on Exotic planets.
- Damaged Machinery
Living Slime can be refined using a Refiner with the following ingredients:
- Viscous Fluids x1 → Living Slime x1 ("Recycle Waste Materials", 0.6 sec./unit output)
- Hypnotic Eye x1 → Living Slime x50 ("Biological Purge", 0.24 sec./unit output)
Use[ | ]
Through multiple steps of refining, Residual Goop can be converted to Viscous Fluids, to Living Slime, to Runaway Mould and then to Nanite Cluster.

Living Slime is used as an ingredient for crafting the following products:
- Spewing Vents -- Sac Venom x5 + Living Slime x40 → Spewing Vents

Trivia[ | ]
With its purple colour and description as "living", Living Slime bears a strong resemblance to S.L.I.M.E, (Surface-Living Intelligent Multiplying Endolith), from the book Alienology.[1].
