Muthnir is a star system.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Muthnir is a prosperous scientific star system on the outer rim of the Delta Quadrant in the Euclid galaxy and the last outpost of the Traveller's Guild before entering the Abikoyer Instability inside the Yuhymunosh Anomaly.

The system is under supervision of Traveller Postpol. Attempts to harness the exploration data collected by this important bridge between two regions has led to a decline in security. Many people prey on the unwary explorers flying through this system to resupply for the long journey ahead. Its prosperity, born from the scientific data and local technical advances, only spurns the fires of greed and piracy. Due to these hostilities the security is LOW!

Aboard the space station the Guild is happy to share its server archives and some repair nanites with tired veteran explorers and Travellers and offers further recreation in a small garden near the trade terminal.

Planets & Moons[edit | edit source]

  • The first planet of the system is a previous colony of the Gek, Schommer. It had been irradiated in the Great War and was entirely wiped of life. It is only partially reclaimed today. Scattered around and in caves, remnants of this civilization can be found in the form of Vortex Cubes.
  • The system's new capital is its second planet, Muthnir Prime. It is a lush planet with resilient wildlife and flora. Visitors are advised to either land in a known shelter or to bring acid protection, due to acid rains up to 100 Hammett (protonating power) being common. The grave of the Traveller Exgibb-Aczy can be found here.
  • The third planet is Takaha, a hot planet with extensive rocky deserts.
  • Muthnir 4 is entirely uncolonized and only used for sporadic acquisition of minerals.
  • The last planet is Hoigen, a toxic world unsuited for longer presences. Nonetheless, lesser scientific communities have settled here for research.
