N. Polyoirea is a creature in the No Man's Sky universe.

It is an especially large member of the Rangifae genus, with some specimens reaching up to 6.4m tall. They are often encountered alone, wandering the stormy and rotting plains of their home planet. These extreme and frequent tempests hide everything and everyone under a thick poisonous fog, including N. Polyoirea, despite being the biggest creature of its world.

Gender Dimorphism[ | ]

Besides sharing the same coloration, both genders are easily recognizable:

The Female gender displays an imposing “Cobra” head type, while the Alpha gender has the “Halo Sword” head model.
The Alpha gender exhibits a unique and distinctive white stripe on its back.
The Female gender has scaly parts on its upper body.
The Alpha gender seems to have apparent vertebrae behind its neck; the Female gender is devoid of this characteristic.

Found on the radiation-blasted plains of planet Rael. Social animals, they show great care in tending their young and their sick. Exceptionally fine teeth allow them to selectively eat, chewing only the most nutritious parts of otherwise tough and hard to digest plants.
