'NECO METUS EXITIUM is a civilized space community.

Summary[edit | edit source]

NECO METUS EXITIUM, or NME ("enemy") is a role-playing PS4-based paramilitary, bounty hunting, and mercenary group dedicated to the protection of high-profile individuals and their interests in the No Man's Sky universe. Services include Intel & Recon, Parcel Retrieval & Delivery, Escort & Security, Sabotage, and Eradication. NME maintains an expansive set of members who are all specialized in their respective fields.

Lore[edit | edit source]

For eons, the name Neco Metus Exitum has plagued nightmares of space pirates across the galaxy. And no wonder, for the name belonged to a merciless band of mercenaries who strove to live up to it, leaving death, fear, and destruction in their wake.

We weren't always this way. In fact, SalesGek Ta, the founder of our faction, would have liked nothing more than to live a peaceful life, building his own trade empire across the stars with the help of his two friends, Auugu the Vy'Keen and Valaras the Traveler. Sentinel Hunter Auugu was hardened and cold from years of battle early in life, but he was a stalwart companion who now used his experience to maintain peace for his companions. Valaras was uninterested in business, but was quite good at procuring new goods for trade – even if he sometimes went around legal channels to do so. Only Ta was motivated to be greater than he was, and in this venture his two friends pledged their support to the end of their days.

That time came all too soon.

A lone pirate who called himself Ravager Quan set his sights on the crew of friends, who quickly surrendered at the behest of Auugu. No goods, he'd suggested, were worth the lives of the crew. Unfortunately, the pirate and his crew weren’t satisfied with the meager trade goods on board. He wanted to make a name for himself, and what better way than by leaving a calling card. He boarded the ship, ordered his crew to restrain the three friends, and then handed a blade to Ta with the order to slit the others' throats. When Ta refused, Quan ordered his crew to slowly torture the other prisoners, setting the weak Gek free to watch.

Eventually, to end his friends' suffering, Ta did as he was bidden, and the pirate crew left him weeping by the corpses of his companions. Quan should never have left him alive. Ta soon decided that Auugu, his dear friend, had been right: no goods were worth the lives of Ta's crew.
