Neridan Hosper is a creature.

Summary

Neridan Hosper is a species of 5.93 - 6.00m "arched-back" Rangifae/diplo located on a toxic planet. They are considered one of the main fauna attractions of the Galactic Hub.

Appearance

Both genders are mostly brown and yellow in color, with reddish-brown underbellies. Both genders display thin, stubby tails, have pig-like hooves for their rear feet, and stand on three finger-like appendages for their front feet.

The larger of the two genders, the Symmetric gender, is a beaked diplo with two large "sails" or skin-covered spines: the lower one on the anterior side of the neck, and the higher one (closer to the skull) on the posterior side of the neck. This diplo also features 21 light pink protrusions from its back. The purpose or origin of these pink protrusions is unclear, but another species from the same family shares similar, differently-colored protrusions.

The slightly smaller Vectorized gender is a so-called "hammerhead diplo," its eyes set wide apart on each side of its mouth similarly to a hammerhead shark in Earth biology. Its coloration differs slightly from the Symmetric gender. Its back, particularly around the shoulder/neck area, appears more rough/leathery and brown. Its upper and lower jaw are both a bright turquoise blue color, and it also displays a purple "ring" around the top of its head. Its nostrils appear to be located along this ring, significantly higher than its eyes. This "nostril" could also be another form of sensory organ, such as a snake's heat-sensing pit which allows them to "see" in infrared.
