New Eridu is a planet.

Summary[ | ]

New Eridu is one of the many procedurally-generated planets in the No Man's Sky universe before the change of the generation seed.

New Eridu was one of the first planets to be revealed, as it was shown in the No Man's Sky announcement trailer in December 2013. New Eridu features an expansive ocean filled with many lifeforms, both friendly and aggressive, as well as sandy islands populated with deep red grasses and trees. There are at least two other celestial bodies within the system.

A mysterious circular building or wreck sits on one of the islands. This type of information will be gathered and studied via the discipline of Xenoarcheology.

Planet Type[ | ]

New Eridu is mostly covered by water, with lush islands scattered across its surface. There are at least two biomes visible - forests and snowy mountains[1].

The atmosphere is blue with white puffy clouds and consists of:

  • 76.4% Nitrogen
  • 23.1% Oxygen
  • 0.5% trace substances

The islands of New Eridu are covered in orange, yellow, and red grasses, topped with orange and red-leaf trees. The ocean floor is dotted with green seaweed.

Animal[ | ]

Most of New Eridu's wildlife appears to reside in its oceans. This includes a number of passive fish as well as aggressive shark-like creatures.
