Description Hireable NPC character
Updated Desolation

The Overseer is a hireable NPC character.

Summary[ | ]

The Overseer is a hireable Gek NPC character and is the mission-giver of the Expanding the Base mission.

They are required for the Expanding the Base mission and they can be found in any star system unlike any of the other hireable NPCs. Before hiring an Overseer, a Habitable Base must be claimed and a Construction Terminal must have been built.

After completing all Overseer missions, a repeatable mission named The Overseer's Tour will become available when interacting with the Overseer.

Blueprints[ | ]

The Overseer gives the following blueprints in order:

The science terminal blueprint is actually given before the storage container blueprint in the current version of No Man's Sky (Platform: Xbox), To get said blueprint you must give the overseer "x" quantity of Chromatic Metal (Where x is the required amount), After this mission the overseer requests you to go and get the storage container blueprint.

Bugs[ | ]

  • The Overseer may glitch into repeating the give-dialogue for Gravitino Balls twice, exiting the conversation and speaking to them will make them advance forward as normal.
  • The Overseer may glitch into repeating the give-dialogue for Pugneum multiple times, allowing the player to continue to turn in the quest and obtain multiple upgrade modules in return. Exiting the dialog or running out of inventory space will end the glitch and he will begin the next quest dialogue.
  • The overseer may fail to complete the questline when you talk to him to complete the last part of the last quest (Talking to the overseer). This is fixable on PC through use of save state modifications, but not on console.
  • Overseer may get stuck in the craft Microprocessor mission if done wrong.
