Patterns in Time is the sixth story mission of the Artemis Path, starting immediately upon the conclusion of The First Traveller. The mission tasks the player with obtaining information from the Vy'keen, Korvax and Gek concerning the state of the multiverse.

Note: If you are experiencing a bug with this mission you can mouse over the mission and hold Middle Mouse on PC or R3 on PS4 to reset it. This appears to work even when the 'Reset' button doesn't appear.

Walkthrough[ | ]

The Vy'keen[ | ]

-null- seeks to understand more about how the universe came to be in this strange state, how the anomalies we see became so widespread. -null- feels the Vy'keen may know more. I should speak with a Cartographer and find a helpful contact.

The player must first travel to a Vy'keen Space Station and speak to the Cartographer stationed next to the Station Terminus (teleporter). The Cartographer will initially refuse to speak with the player, requiring them to prove themselves worthy of the Vy'keen before they will divulge what they know about The Atlas, the Sentinels and the Traveller. The player will be sent to "commune with Hirk" and bring back an artifact, which requires them to travel to a nearby ruin and collect some knowledge, in the form of a Vy'keen Tablet. After communing with Hirk, dealing with a 3-star Wanted level triggered by the communion, and returning, the Vy'keen Cartographer will answer a few questions, before suddenly acting very strangely.

At this point, The Space Anomaly will update, allowing the player to discuss revelations with Nada and Polo.

The Korvax[ | ]

-null- has a task for me. They feel something is happening to the galaxy, some great unravelling of the threads that keep reality bound together. I am to investigate, going around the Sentinels where they cannot.

Next, the player must travel to a Korvax space station and speak to the Cartographer representative stationed there. Again, the player will be refused knowledge until they have proven their worth to the Korvax by retrieving some impossible data, in the form of a Divergence Cube from a nearby Abandoned Building (which may or may not be underwater). Once the mission is complete, the player must return to the Korvax Cartographer and receive the knowledge of the Korvax through their Nanite Clusters.

If the player had uploaded the soul of Artemis to the Korvax simulation, then told them about the truth of their present existence, they will receive a transmission from Artemis on the way to the Abandoned Building concerning a dream they had involving the player. If they were instead lied to, they will speak of their anticipated meeting.

Once the Divergence Cube has been shown to the Cartographer, The Space Anomaly will update, allowing the player to discuss revelations with Nada and Polo.

The Gek[ | ]

-null- seeks to understand more about how the universe came to be in this strange state, how the anomalies we see became so widespread. The Korvax told me of their past as slaves to the Gek, of the violence that drove them to the Atlas. They seek to transcend their worldly existence, to live on the same plane as the Atlas.

The Gek may know more. I should speak with a Cartographer and find a helpful contact.

Finally, the player must travel to a Gek space station and speak to the Gek Cartographer, who, of course, will not speak to the player until they have proven their worth - this time by completing two contracts for the Gek (Referring to Gek missions that reward Gek Standing Increase) from the Mission Board agent stationed there. After returning to the Cartographer, the player will receive the knowledge of the Gek through their pheromones. The mission concludes once the player has learned all they can from the Gek lifeform.

The player will receive a transmission from Apollo while working on the missions for the Merchants Guild, in which they speak about their ongoing encounter with the Atlas.
