Pepper Dusk (PC: Pepper) is a planet in the HUB7-G-214 Einhander system.
Summary[ | ]
This beautiful lush planet boasts a variety of unique fauna, the most notable of which is the Ubriast Thlampras, a ~6m diplo species. Other notable species include a small, blue, hippo-like Theroma species; a fairly beautiful shark / Prionace species; and exotic bipeds.
On PS4, it is the home of Syn1334. On PC, it is the home of devinup, the original discoverer of this planet and system.
Geology[ | ]
The geology here is varied, with large mountains, valleys, beaches and other sandy areas, stone pillars, Nickel arches, cave systems both extensive and tiny, large curving Iron deposits, and lakes of various sizes.
A Nickel arch with a Fighter ship landed on top.
Titanium and Chrysonite crystals.
Atmosphere and climate[ | ]
Day time atmosphere is blue-pink skies with a light pinkish-white haze. This haze clears by the night, when the skies turn a bright orange, with black water vapor clouds and bright-orange gas clouds. The other planets in the system are only slightly visible during the day, but can be seen clearly at night, along with the stars.
During both night and day, leaves/pollen/other particulates can be seen blowing in the air. These most likely come from the large amount of native flora.
- 25.7 °C (Day - 15:51, Clear)
- -48.3 °C (Night - 22:54, Clear, no drain on exosuit thermal shields)
- -27.7 °C (Day - 08:48 or Night - 19:30 are the same temperature, rainstorm, slight drain on exosuit thermal shields)
- 23.4 °C (Night - 19:20, Water Temperature)
Waypoints[ | ]
Rugir Station is a large outpost with a Transmission Tower (curiously, a Korvax Transmission Tower), an Observatory, and the manager's building with a Landing Pad. It is managed by Manager Mejan, who introduces himself as a "Gek trade federation accredited engineer," who offers his help in return for Units. A multi-tool and Galactic trade terminal are available on the wall next to Mejan. There is an Exosuit upgrade behind an AtlasPass v2 door.
Notable locations[ | ]
- PS4 Only: Peaceful Pepperbase, Syn1334's base. NipNip buds and the Sgt. Pepper's Circuit racetrack are available here, as well as an area for visitors to leave Comm stations.
- PC Only: devinup's base
Life[ | ]
Fauna[ | ]
A wide variety of fauna can be found here besides the main attraction, the Ubriast Thlampras diplos. This includes the species mentioned under the "Summary" section, as well as every major variant of cow/Ungulatis (quadrupedal, bipedal, and hovering).
Kroppagoeum Lebezza will often be seen gathering in large groups/herds, often with Sugiagia Genellaris underfoot. The local diplos are relatively solitary (compared to Drogradur NO425 diplos, for example). They are usually found apart from others of their kind, or perhaps with another single diplo in the distance. Iabumme Thlampras, a megafauna cow species, is also usually found alone, often in more forested areas. Unumelea Lebezza, a hovering cow species, is also usually found in small groups. The remaining passive terrestrial fauna are quite small, and are not especially noticeable in the tall grass.
Vapute Enreclun, the local predatory feline species, provides many opportunities for dedicated exozoologists and tourists alike to witness hunting and killing predatory behavior, followed by protection of their prey's corpse. Take care not to get too close, or the fauna may end up watching you get eaten. One of the nicknames for this species is "grasscat" due to its tendency to blend in with, and take partial cover in, the grass which covers much of this planet.
The Sirenfish, Tumplau Boisitato, is a long and graceful Prionace species, an aquatic predator. Like many sharks, it is not especially aggressive. However, if allowed to get close enough, it will often bite multiple times in rapid succession, draining shields and health quickly.
The final predatory species, Cadagimii Foxiustra, will only attack players, not other fauna. It is a fairly standard, hostile, subterranean Bos/spider species. It does not present a significant danger, but is still an often-present annoyance in this planet's beautiful cave systems.
As is common with most planets, this planet's fauna population is significantly less active at night, with Vapute Enreclun's activity increasing as the light levels decrease - this predator is present during the day, but is predominantly nocturnal.
Fauna Completion %[ | ]
PS4: 84% (Remaining species are aquatic - hard to find their spawns in the shallow waters on this planet.)
