Sodium is a resource.

Summary

Sodium (Na) is a resource and one of the catalyst elements.

Game description

A powerful catalyst, useful for charging defensive technologies such as shields or hazard protection.

Exosuit material handling technology allows automatic harvesting from appropriate sodium-rich flora.

A vital ingredient in the creation of many advanced devices, products and components.

Source

Sodium can be refined using a Refiner with the following ingredients:

  • SUBSTANCE.CATALYST.2 Sodium Nitrate x1  →  SUBSTANCE.CATALYST.1 Sodium x2  ("Free Sodium", 0.6 sec./unit output)
  • SUBSTANCE.PLANT.CAVE Marrow Bulb x1  →  SUBSTANCE.CATALYST.1 Sodium x1  ("Extract Organic Sodium", 0.6 sec./unit output)
  • SUBSTANCE.PLANT.CAVE Marrow Bulb x1  +  SUBSTANCE.FUEL.1 Carbon x1  →  SUBSTANCE.CATALYST.1 Sodium x2  ("Extract Organic Sodium", 0.9 sec./unit output)

Use

Crafting

Sodium is used as an ingredient for crafting the following products:

Refining

Sodium is used as an ingredient for refining the following products using a Refiner:

Cooking

Sodium is not used as an ingredient for cooking using a Nutrient Processor.

Additional information

  • A Portable Refiner can be used to change Sodium into Sodium Nitrate
  • Note that Sodium Nitrate is 6x better at charging technologies, requiring only 2 sodium to be put in a refiner. This gives you an effective 3x boost to the time you can stay exposed.
  • The flower models from which Sodium is harvested used to be sources of Zinc before the NEXT update.
  • Sodium-rich plants can be found in large groups or as single separate plants. Same as with Oxygen-rich plants.

Release history

  • NEXT - Added as a resource.
  • Visions - Hidden changes: The information panel has an additional icon indicating its purpose.
  • Visions 1.77 - Hidden changes: Refining added to the "Used for" list.
