In at least 2.0.9 (PC, GOG), but possibly simply starting with Beyond, this limit does not apply. Max amount tested were twelve, where the limiting factor was physical surface area of the resource deposit - there simply wasn't room for any more.
On the other hand, this could be just one more of the gazillion bugs in Beyond. :-)
I didn't update the page since I feel the issue requires some more research before making a final statement on limit/no limit, but still wanted to make a note of it.

- The restriction on an AMU needing to be within the radius of a base in order to delete it and recover the resources appears to have gone away with Visions. I was able to recover an AMU over 450u from my base. Bhocis (talk) 14:31, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
