Toxic Protection Upgrade is an exosuit upgrade.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Toxic Protection Upgrades, contained within Toxic Protection Modules, are procedurally generated upgrades granting supplementary protection against toxins.
Upgrade properties[edit | edit source]
Toxic Protection Upgrades function similarly to Hazard Protection but only protect the player from toxic damage. Protection effectiveness depends on upgrade class (S-class upgrades offer the best protection).
The protection offered by Toxic Protection Upgrades, unlike that offered by the Exosuit's built-in toxic protection, does not recharge automatically while in locations without a significant toxin hazard. Toxic Protection Upgrades must be manually recharged as needed using Ammonia (6.25%/unit), Ion Batteries (37.5%/unit) or Advanced Ion Batteries (100%/unit).
Only one Toxic Protection Upgrade is able to protect the player --- additional upgrades of the same type will not activate even if the protection offered by the active upgrade has been fully depleted.

Toxic Protection Upgrades can only be obtained from opening Toxic Protection Modules.
Additional information[edit | edit source]
- Upgrade bonuses trigger for Toxic Protection Upgrades if they are adjacent to Radiation Protection Upgrades, Thermal Protection Upgrades (Cold) or Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat), though it is not yet known whether these bonuses have any effect.
