Position bonus[edit | edit source]
If similar technologies are placed side by side on an inventory page, additional benefits will result. This will be shown as an outline of the same colour around related upgrades.
Synergy bonus[edit | edit source]
"Plus" upgrades (such as +1, +2, etc) combine in value when positioned next to each other. The bonus goes up at an ever-increasing rate as additional compatible modules are placed adjacent to each other. (See video below where the magazine for a Boltcaster is more than doubled thanks to this synergy effect). This secondary effect is shown on the technology rings as an extension at the end of the ring in a darker colour. This can be seen in the graphic on the orange weapons ring, where the tip of the semi-circle is a darker orange.
In short, the more upgrades you place next to each other, the better the results.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Place your strongest module(s) centrally in your grid of upgrades to maximize the number of adjacent modules and subsequent synergy bonuses.
- Place base technology modules and the weakest upgrade modules in corners (or at the ends of 1xN grids), where those modules' weaker initial effects will minimize the loss of synergy bonuses experienced by such limited grid positions.
