Zagombo is a star system.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Zagombo is an energy star system on the outer rim of the Delta Quadrant in the Euclid galaxy.

The system is part of the Vasho Ascendancy under supervision of Specialist Etnin. As a former core system of the First Spawn, half of its planets have suffered severe irradiation during the great war. A major military center and its former capital, Zagombo 1 still suffers radiactive decay up to 10.4 Rad. Yet, two lush planets still show the system's former beauty. One of them is Zagombo Prime, the new capital, even though it still suffers from acid rainstorms from the damage to its atmosphere during the war to this day. The system's heritage still draws ire of the Vy'keen and even though the Ascendancy has good ties to pirates all around, many terrorists assault the new settlements on the old worlds repeatedly or attack supply convoys. People are advised to trade in Vasho if their ships are not equipped to deal with these attacks as the Ascendancy only keeps up standard patrols for the huge system and most of which favor their own ships to keep the system under control and their own business running. The security is MEDIUM!

Anenysan, a famous Traveller, died on Zagombo Prime during research of the Vortex Cubes. It is suspected their presence hints at a sentinel base as they generate the same signature as monoliths and might be related to quick travel.

Aboard the space station respected trade partners are allowed to access the two major server archives. An excerpt of research data and a refill of precious nanites is also included as a customer service. Reports of mind altering properties are vastly exaggerated.

Planets & Moons[edit | edit source]

  • Zagombo 1 was once a major planet in the empire of the First Spawn and a lush aquatic world. Today the terrible fallout of the sentinels wrath still lingers in the air. While the life among the last remnants of the once great cities adapted to its harsh enviroment, visitors are warned to bring radiation protection. With 10.4 Rad being the lowest estimate, many bases on this world should operate on a negative profit due to maintenance. Yet they remain, maybe due to patriotism.
  • Zagombo Prime is the new capital of the system after the old empire crumbled in the fires of a rebellion and the great war. Today it still suffers from the battles, its upper atmosphere rich in noxious gases and acidic materials. While life goes on undisturbed, during the rainy season, the acidic remnants fall down to the earth, threatening anyone unprepared. The average intensity of these acid storms is 82 Hammett. While acceptable today, long exposure is to be avoided. Anenysan's grave can be found here. The Traveller was killed during research into the Vortex Cubes below ground and their connection to the sentinels teleport network.
  • The third planet wasn't as important during the old empire, but still suffered the sentinels wrath. Ciruyang is a twisted world today and has adopted to its permanent level of radiation. With 5.1 Rad, the radiation is less intense on average than on Zagombo 1, but still endangers all unprepared visitors.
  • Another lush planet that survived the fall of the First Spawn Empire, Haack has thrived in the aftermath of its neighbours' decay. Today it is not the main trade hub, but some more shady traders prefer this planet over Zagombo Prime. Maybe the less extreme weather plays a part in it too.
  • The fifth and last planet Xekara is a cold planet outside of the habitable zone of the system. It was never a major center of operation, even during the old empire. Today its moderate danger and arctic climate is a reason it has grown in importance, especially in exploitation. At an average of -64.4°C during the day, longer trips for the unprepared are not encouraged however.
