A. Gerbilcundus is a creature in the No Man's Sky universe.
It is a member of the Procavya genus.
Appearance[ | ]
The A. Gerbilcundus is a four-legged creature with round ears much like those of a mouse. Its body is mostly gray in color, with its most striking feature being its large white stripes. The front of its body is green, and has blue markings underneath the eyes. Its tail is short and thin, and its head shape is long and similar to an anteater.
The only noticeable difference between the two genders are the Unknown gender has a short white horn on the tip of its snout, with smaller horns surrounding it, while the Orthogonal gender has a gathering of small white round bumps, that produce light. It is speculated that the Orthogonal gender serves as a gatherer for the herds, and the lights aid in its search for flower petals that provide its nourishment. The Unknown gender on the other hand holds these horns as a minor defense, or perhaps as a way to hold fights over mates without causing any injury other than minor scrapes and bumps.
The A. Gerbilcundus is a very anxious and fearful creature. This is probably largely due to the fact that other than the Unknown gender's small horns, they seem to have little way to defend themselves. They are, however, quick to trust friendly players who offer them food.

Elmer (A. Gerbilcundus) was first recorded in the shattered remains of planet Vababi Tota, thriving despite the nuclear storms. Their lives seem spent in constant anxiety; they are tense and fearful even on a genetic level. Their finely-tuned sense of smell draws them to the most beautiful, richly-scented flowers, which they then consume whole.
