Alpha Quadrant is one of four galaxy quadrants.
Summary
The Alpha Quadrant term has become synonymous with the upper left portion of the galactic map when viewed from the iVc Quadrant Map
The area encompasses all Galactic Coordinates above Prime gHorizon 0800, left of Prime gMeridian 0800 and from gAltitude 0000 through 0FFF.
Background
Initially developed as an iVc Quadrant for galactic cartography.
As players have expanded into other galaxies, the quadrant system has been adopted for navigation there as well.
