It is notable for having among the tallest mountain formations known in the Galactic Hub, including Mt. Lampropeltis, whose peak rises above cloud level. Evidence of heavy volcanic activity is present in the form of dense outcrops of igneous rock and many mountains with summit craters.
Sweltering temperatures produce a moderate drain on hazard protection at all hours. Due to a unique atmospheric convective effect, apparent temperatures are higher at night (51.4 °C) than during the day (46.0 °C). During storms, temperatures can reach as high as 81.4 °C.
