Summary[ | ]

Approaching Elebor

Elebor

Elebor (EHL-eh-bor) is a habitable planet with lush flora and fauna. It is the second—and largest—planet in the HUB3-G-CC Makonis system. It lies 482,810ks from the Makonis space station.

Geographically, Elebor is a habitable planet featuring lush flora dominated by green and teal trees (some with purple-striped bark) and a wide variety of fauna. Its surface boasts one of the most fascinating landscapes in the region, a melange of rolling hills, jagged and broken rock formations, and unusually steep-sloped mountains (where most subterranean caves can be found), with orange grasslands growing over blue-white and greenish-gray rock.

The planet is also one of the most densely populated and structurally occupied worlds in the entire Hub, with multiple Trading Posts located within a few miles of one another. Observatories, Transmission Towers, and outposts can all be found in close proximity—often times within direct view of one another.

Atmosphere and climate[ | ]

Under an aqua-blue daytime sky, the atmosphere of Elebor most often appears hazy, making it hard to distinguish distant features. The weather varies between mild conditions during the day (28.6 °C) and fairly frequent rainstorms that cause the surface temperature to plummet (-42.2 °C). Nighttime temperatures drop to about -17 °C under a sky that shows the deep purple of the surrounding system.

Waypoints[ | ]

Elebor Station is the primary trading post on the planet. Farside Base is on. . . the far side of the planet from Elebor Station, featuring a Galactic trade terminal and an Observatory. Not far from Farside, the Highwatch Plateau Observatory houses a 3-dimensional solar imaging model and a toolroom for suit upgrades.

Notable locations[ | ]

In the southern hemisphere, at the base of Mount Azimuth Station, lies Longitude Base, the Galactic Cartography headquarters for interloper UniDestiny (PS4). The base faces Mount Mercator, at the base of which (near its eastern slope) stands the Mercator Portal. Just a few miles north of due east, Mercator Station (Trading Post) can be found on a ridge of tall hills.

The Azimuth/Mercator region also boasts one of the most unique and striking geographical formations in the entire Hub, Elderwatch Temple, a towering configuration of stone bisected by a deep valley and dominated by three steep peaks (the Three Elders). According to local lore, the site was the location of an ancient Gek monastery destroyed by the wars of the time and now overgrown with mineral deposits. The tunnels beneath the mountain suggest a sophisticated complex of passageways that once existed at the heart of the formation. The temple's distinctive "backward-L" shape is large enough to be seen from orbit.

Albumen Pearls can be found on Elebor in fair supply, but rarely outside the planet's subterranean caves (particularly prevalent in the mountain ranges).
