The Forgotten Colonies - Timeline is a historical document.

Summary

Knowledge is important to prevent the mistakes of the past, the mistakes from another life... another dimension. Today the Forgotten Colonies have risen from the ashes and challenge the sentinels that have taken up arms against creation, study the distant worlds and portals of their guardians and seek to contain the spreading corruption of the hex and the glass. Yet others would seek to harness their gifts to fight their kin and enemies. Will you learn from their mistake, help them or see their world burn in petty strife? This is their story, and maybe one day... yours!

Beta Spiral:

  • Rogue Sentinel Uprising in Fabod

Important Events

(In order of appearance)

16/10/12017

  • With tensions between the two anarchist behemoths and the new power on the block on the rise for its rich systems, a new project has been announced. The Traveller's Guild in conjunction with the Explorers Guild have decided to finance an expedition to the outer rim between the Delta and the Beta quadrants. In a historic statement, the two powerful entities decided to finance a trip to this abandoned region together and to finally catalogue part of the outer rim in the united database of the guilds. If this expedition is successful and communication is established through the repurposed network of the sentinels, further expeditions are planned. A long time ago many races sent out their colonists to find new worlds in a chaotic process. This only got worse in the aftermath of the First Spawn war that destroyed most of the traditional structures in the galaxy. Today nearly the entire galaxy has been settled. However with the lack of complete archives anywhere, it is unclear what transpired there. Now both are bent to find out. Rumour has it that the legendary 'Hyperlane Wormholes' can be found in the spirals and both are highly interested in access to them. Whomever might hold the keys...

22/10 - 31/10/12017

  • In an united effort of Yukihamur, the Traveller's Guild and Hushay, the Outer Rim Expedition has analyzed the portal network, finding a direct shortcut to Eurus, the eastern rim.
  • Direct contact was established with Boreas, the North Pole.
  • Direct contact was established with Ame, the Upper Pole.
  • Direct contact was established with Yomi, the Lower Pole.
  • Direct contact was established with Zephyrus, the West Pole.
  • Direct contact was established with Notus, the South Pole.
  • Direct contact was established with Alpha Polaris, the end of the Alpha Spiral.
  • Direct contact was established with Delta Polaris, the end of the Delta Spiral.

22/11-24/11/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Beta Polaris, the end of the Beta Spiral.
  • Direct contact was established with Gamma Polaris, the end of the Gamma Spiral.

24/07/12018

  • The temporal anomaly N07E24-X20T18 happens, leaving the entire region of the Fade in upheaval. As the ripples in the multiverse begin to heal during a new attempt of the Atlas to regain control over the dying multiverse, the Traveller's connection with each other wanes. Some vanish completely... potentially forever. When the dust settled, the Sentinels returned in force, stronger than even before the Vy'keen war of Extermination. All technology had broken down and new strains of elements appeared while old ones were lost. Like a miracle the Traveller's Guild had kept the portal technology alive through this chaos, while the races of the multiverse quickly rallied to the newfound resources to rebuild the technology that just went obsolete and irreparable without the necessary resources. This experimental state of new technology would soon give birth to the modular system of ships, now each with their unique composition aside of some basic equipment. The era of stability was over and the fledgling civilization of The Fade began to crumble under its own weight in the face of this crisis. A crisis that effected the guild down to its very core, as Otohime got the short end of the anomaly. The old Traveller's guild... was dead.

12018 - 29/07/12052

  • The galaxy had moved on. The portal technology was still a secret technique of the Traveller's guild and the transport of entire ships their greatest achievement. But giant teleporters had been deployed by the races, the former infant technology now the spearhead of a newly awakened universe and economy. With the breakdown of the old warp reactors and the loss in mobility, the new technology filled a hole left by former trade fleets. With the reduced capacity of small warp drives, giant trade fleets had been built, the prime focus; Frigates. These hybrids were less expensive but filled the role of former traders, reaching former jumpranges with ease by compensating with giant warp drives instead. These new fleets spawned their own type of scout and war vessels and led the universe into the age of capital ships. No longer were they available to the few and mighty; a good armada of frigates could even take down the legendary Deshvan rogue sentinel fleet. A feat the restored sentinels gladly did themselves in an attempt to remove the corruption of their peers.
  • With the loss of the smaller fleets came the strain on border systems. While many were abandoned after their local population couldn't suffer through the many climate changes or by lack of supply routes the pulse had caused, many more had just vanished. Rumours of a new corruption spread... of the Hex's return to the Fade. First Ame went silent... then Yomi. No survivors had been found. During the investigation the fear had culminated that the Hex had claimed Ame and the Fade prepared in fear, as the old Contingency of Yuhymunosh was all but defeated in the local war. In an era of drought, restructure and want... the cold war had gone hot. And nothing would be as it was before. Otohime wasn't a safe haven anymore.
  • The Traveller's guild's subdivision of The Synergy and The Guardians united and established new prime embassies to keep watch over Alpha Polaris and Delta Polaris. They had rebuild a portal at the Hex of Ame and were planning to keep watch over the Fade once more. The appearance of new multiverse rifts caused concern in the wake of the new corruption. A group of humanoid bipeds stepped forth, calling on the races to join them. Their name and origin? They didn't know! All they knew was that their mission was to chart the multiverse and find the source for the Atlas' fading control over his creation. Naturally the Traveller's might feel betrayed by their creator, but they understood that they had failed him, failed the Atlas. In the wake of the failure, these newcomers were just another Anomaly, but one with purpose. Together with willing volunteers from all races they set out to save them all... unsure if either of them would suceed, how many would fall to the corruption and how many would be led astray. The Fade was about to become a lot more lively.
  • One of the Anomaly stepped forth, telling the tale of the fallen hero and Traveller Nodlar-Aage who was one of the leaders in the Outer Rim Expedition. Their death came suddenly as the temporal anomaly rendered ship and pilot unable to avoid the crash on Delta Polaris' second planet. Their memory was unforgotten. Yet, no one told the story like this one, vivid... in detail... in regret. Unsure of what to make of this, the Traveller's guild decided to declare them an echo, the manifestation of a personality in the shell of the Anomaly. Echos weren't unheard of. Other members of races had reported to have been possessed by Travellers of the past. And now their local hero had returned, albeit only an afterimage created by the Atlas. The Anomaly agreed, but decided to honor the memories this hero bestowed upon them. They would regard them as their parent, just like the Atlas. This new traveller of the deep periphery joined hands with the Traveller's guild to reestablish distant communications with the remaining fragments of the Fade formerly charted in the Outer Rim Expedition. Their name... Thamalandis. The Euclidian Restoration had begun.

30/08/12058

  • After the Anomalies and echoes of former travellers joined the guild, many of the old paths were reopened and some formerly lost systems recolonized with forward bases. It was around the sixth year of the Euclidian Restoration when the unthinkable happened... the portals became unstable. First contact with distant colonies broke off, then even the basic and standard trade routes. All around the galaxy stranded travellers put forth their effort to stabilize this second cataclysm, but with no avail. Tweaked to their locations and done as a link between two familiar souls, the teleporter network picked up on their coordinates, a last bridge to the distant realms of the stars. A rough wormhole network between the far points of the Outer Rim was rebuild, the home region of the guild reconnected and The Center contact was reestablished. But everything inbetween had now become uncharted wildlands again. The galaxy was once again divided. And aside of the few wormholes the Forgotten Colonies managed to establish, it was once again on the newly upgraded and advanced hyperdrives to shorten the distance in the universe... another sign for the Atlas' sickness had revealed itself. This time, it hit hard. How would the stranded domains react? How would the guild maintain order if they couldn't freely sent fleets through the universe? Only time would tell.

01/10/12063

  • The Black Hole Research Initiative was started to chart the basic principles between the new intragalactic highways.

Timeline

(New to Old)

29/11/12075

  • The Beta Spiral expedition send out to chart and research the exotic anomalies of the universe has returned. While most secrets have been uncovered, a second expedition has already been planned. The former success was too great to stop now. Many specimens were brought back for further study. Informations and samples were also given to the Traveller's Guild contact and friend Polo.

20/10/12065

  • The Synergy of the Traveller's Guild takes over control of Kobso by request of the local convergence to save the gaia system from collapse. It doubles as their current outpost in the region.

01/10/12063

  • The Black Hole Research Initiative was started to chart the basic principles between the new intragalactic highways.

12063

  • An anomaly visited the system of Fabod to investigate the astronomical reports of a massive new gaia world in the formerly lost system. Due to the sun's special property and rare resources, the guild was interested. What they found would shake the Beta Spiral! The scout came in contact with Contingency Protocol-001, Rogue Sentinels. After they barely escaped, the local hive began to construct spaceships to bridge the huge gap to the next system and invade it. They had just learned life didn't fully leave the Ongyimid Shallows... and they would correct it. This war could NOT be avoided.

24/07/12018 and beyond

  • The temporal anomaly N07E24-X20T18 happens, leaving the entire region of the Fade in upheaval. As the ripples in the multiverse begin to heal during a new attempt of the Atlas to regain control over the dying multiverse, the Traveller's connection with each other vanes. A crisis that effected the guild down to its very core, as Otohime got the short end of the anomaly. The old Traveller's guild... was dead.

30/12/12017

  • Due to the terms of the ceasefire, the Anti-Deshvan Alliance formalised a proper admission to the League of Nenkorte to enjoy the protection of the Traveller's Guild. The remains of the Hemlock fleet were distributed among the members to be able to counter any aggression with guerillia tactics. The strife for the corner of the Delta Spiral had just begun.

11/12/12017

  • It was a peace summit with no victor or peace. Nenkorte and its allies had sacrificed many lives while Deshvan lost its raiding fleet it left at home. They had sent out their mighty guardian fleet during a moment of blind arrogance. Neither side had the resources to engage or stop the other anymore, so the Traveller's Guild stepped in and demanded a permanent ceasefire. The fleets were to avoid each others space and keep to themselves. In return the guild would guarantee both sides and support the defender. Now the only way to save the surrounding systems from Deshvan's tribute and wrath was to convince them to join the protected sphere of Nenkorte or to pay the tributes again once Deshvan had a new raiding fleet. A future war was obviously inevitable... but maybe it would hold for some months or years. Deshvan would continue to be a thorn and threat in the cluster, just not for Nenkorte which paid for its freedom with blood and most of what it had begun in the last month.

01/12/12017

  • The sentinel fleet ceased its raid after barely half a day and jumped out of the system and back to Deshvan during which the 5th Hemlock fleet disengaged to Festa upon sight. Both sides had reached a stalemate with major damage for Nenkorte and tactical loss for Deshvan.
  • A meeting in the neutral Teplant was called to discuss the aftermath of the one day war.

30/11/12017

  • The sentinel fleet of the brotherhood attacked Nenkorte. Its defense was supported by the united fleet deployed around the system coming to its aid. The 1st to 4th Hemlock fleet engaged the sentinels, while the main fleet in Festa launched a retaliation raid on Deshvan. The fate of the cluster was to be decided in mere days from here on.
  • With literally no scratch, the sentinel armada under Deshvan control wiped out the entire united fleet and laid waste to the military-economic infrastructure of the leagues capital. Meanwhile the major battle had left Deshvan open and the Festa fleet successfully destroyed the normal raiding party of Deshvan with barely one ship lost. The station of Deshvan was now under siege. Both sides were at each others throats, the Deshvan throat decidedly smaller.

29/11/12017

  • The League of Nenkorte did ignore the tribute demands of the Deshvan Brotherhood with unknown consequences.

24/11/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Gamma Polaris, the end of the Gamma Spiral.

22/11/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Beta Polaris, the end of the Beta Spiral.

12/11/12017

  • A hyperlane map was created by the Traveller's Guild depicting the way to encircle Deshvan for a quick invasion. As most military resources, even those gained in the last days, are meant to be used to build the fleet, anything saved in logistics is worth its weight in gold. Despite its lack of military prowess or economic strength, the league asked Visab to join them in their effort. The Vy'keen gladly agreed. Deshvan had raided them more than once. It was time to return the favor.
  • During the creation of the hyperlane maps, the Traveller's Guild met Traveller Eijer as the governor of Teplant. Despite his old age and partially infirm state, he told them about his time in the region and the old deeds of Deshvan. He did try to defend the region by himself, with little success. He offered the free stationing of fleets for the League of Nenkorte and gladly reconnected with his brethren by joining the Traveller's Guild. With this first major outpost under one of their own, the guild decided to immediately invest in it to accompany Nenkorte and its efforts. The tide may yet be turned.

11/11/12017

  • Utvalf joined the League of Nenkorte and the Vy'keen itch for a fight. Their system has huge populations of warriors and the facilities to house them for parades or as a military base. It might become a future military base.
  • Pones joined the League of Nenkorte. The league hopes to further the knowledge of both parties. The technological expertise of the Korvax will surely benefit both in the long term, but for now the league accepted to invest in their potential in return for their military support.

10/11/12017

  • With the threat looming over Nenkorte, the local ancient design of the Hunter Gifundon S96 was scrapped in favor of a revamped design for a Strike Fighter, the Tashijona S91 "Hemlock". The Traveller's Guild made sure to incorporate as many natural advantages in it as possible. As the local ambassador stated to the league council: "We aren't dealing with fighter aircraft but a sentinel armada. A swarm of bees won't win now." Obviously the Vy'keen approved the idea of simply fielding a bigger gun. The Gek simply wondered how expensive the armor and resupply would be. A first squadron was ordered for tests.
  • Festa joined the League of Nenkorte and the Vy'keen itch for a fight. They just lack the equipment to do so.

09/11/12017

  • In a gesture of good faith, the Traveller's Guild visited the pirate haven of Deshvan near Nenkorte to avoid needless conflict. In the spirit of the Gek pirates, they showed the ambassador around, showcasing the many rich and moist worlds under their disposal for breeding grounds and their impressive fighting power in a parade of their raiding fleets. The attempt to reach an agreement of non-aggression between the new hub of civilization and the pirates ended abruptly with the handout of their demands. They would support Nenkorte as their tributary in return for a fair share of its growing wealth. When pressed to explain this demand, the local admiral raised his hand with a relic, an Atlas Stone. On his command an entire sentinel armada entered the system and surrounded the diplomatic fleet. 20 days, that was the time limit for the first tribute. Otherwise the armada would burn all The League of Nenkorte would have done to that day and take what they want by force. And they also demanded that no capital ships are to be build, otherwise the armada would be deployed immediately. It seemed peace in the Delta Spiral wouldn't even survive its first week.
  • In an emergency meeting, the League of Nenkorte declared the tribute null and void. Without giving an answer, they would try to prepare for the coming onslaught at the end of the month. They might even strike first. They asked the Traveller's Guild to help them muster the resources, while they ask the surrounding systems for support. The Nenkorte cluster was steering towards war and the pirates would have to take their tribute, from the dead hands of the proud Vy'keen and their Gek brothers.
  • With the plans for the local re-industrialization already done, the Traveller's Guild used its biological studies and research material to find suitable locations and habitats for extensive Carite Sheet production facilities, mostly safe from orbital bombardment. The facilities were to be set up and activated immediately to fuel the coming war industry. Further studies in possible design adaptations for local wildlife was considered to modernize the fleets.

08/11/12017

  • Contact was established with Oillord, a regional pirate haven. Like Utforn it was led by a single collective of Korvax. Unlike Utforn they didn't work independantly. They didn't value their identity, but had come to a new 'conclusion'. The rogues had recreated their own convergence between themselves, acting as one giant composed and egoistic entity. They don't seem willing to risk a conflict for annihilation of their kind, but they aren't willing to accept any outside intervention to their way of life. The Traveller's Guild advised people to stay away from the system so as to not provoke a defensive reaction and to comply to their demands if they do for the time being.

05/11/12017

  • The League of Nenkorte announced their initiative in a joint proclamation with the Traveller's Guild and the powerful in the Sea of Onhakitc listened carefully.

04/11/12017

  • The rogue Korvax of Utforn that cherished their identities made it clear that they would take all resources they need to support their people, but wouldn't assault innocents. As 'pirates' go, these might be the least to worry about in the Delta Spiral.
  • A small council of Gek and Vy'keen requested the presence of the local ambassador of the Traveller's Guild. They hailed from Nenkorte and heard about the recent talks with Sibilda and Uomar. Unlike them, they were willing to form a loose League to pacify and support the Delta Spiral under the statute of the guild. All they asked for was access to the guilds archives to plan the next steps for their small community. The guild decided to give them the benefit of doubt and established formal relations with the League of Nenkorte. It was meant to soon become a defensive alliance to the benefit of all member systems.

03/11/12017

  • The Traveller's Guild established embassies in Sibilda and Uomar to discuss the future of the Delta Spiral. The people of Uomar explained they imagine the region under an Imperial system as one people. The Vy'keen of Sibilda prefer a warlord system of local rulers for their own people in the region. Neither side was willing to sign a treaty for mutual rules of engagement. Accordingly the Traveller's Guild declared that neither would get economic or military support by the supragalactical cooperative. However, the talks have led to both parties signing an accord of mutual understanding. It might be that both would soon challenge the Traveller's Guild as new local hegemon in their own ways. For now peace hold.

31/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Delta Polaris, the end of the Delta Spiral.

29/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Alpha Polaris, the end of the Alpha Spiral.

28/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Notus, the South Pole.

27/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Zephyrus, the West Pole.

26/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Yomi, the Lower Pole.

25/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Ame, the Upper Pole.

23/10/12017

  • Direct contact was established with Boreas, the North Pole.

22/10/12017

  • In an united effort of Yukihamur, the Traveller's Guild and Hushay, the Outer Rim Expedition has analyzed the portal network, finding a direct shortcut to Eurus, the eastern rim.

21/10/12017

  • Hushay joined the Traveller's Guild. With its direct vicinity to Yukihamur it now serves as a beacon and local roadmap for future explorers towards the Outer Rim.
  • Yukihamur joined the Traveller's Guild. It lies in the middle between the Forgotten Colonies and the Outer Rim. It will serve as a local and secondary capital and the second base camp.

20/10/12017

19/10/12017

  • Helong Prime was chosen as the first base camp, due to its Stage 10 portal network. The lowest known portal in the entire outer rim as of now.
  • Yesayan joined the Traveller's Guild. It lies far towards the Outer Rim.

18/10/12017

17/10/12017

  • Bolshi joined the Traveller's Guild. It seems to be an old hub of sentinel research. Most of the Travellers working on the project died. The local leader still bears its marks.

16/10/12017

  • With tensions between the two anarchist behemoths and the new power on the block on the rise for its rich systems, a new project has been announced. The Traveller's Guild in conjunction with the Explorers Guild have decided to finance an expedition to the outer rim between the Delta and the Beta quadrant. In a historic statement, the two powerful entities decided to finance a trip to this abandoned region together and to finally catalogue part of the outer rim in the united database of the guilds. If this expedition is successful and communication is established through the repurposed network of the sentinels, further expeditions are planned. A long time ago many races send out their colonists to find new worlds in a chaotic process. This only got worse in the aftermath of the First Spawn war that destroyed most of the traditional structures in the galaxy. Today nearly the entire galaxy has been settled. However with the lack of complete archives anywhere, it is unclear what transpired there. Now both are bend to find out. Rumours has it that the legendary 'Hyperlane Wormholes' can be found in the spirals and both are highly interested in access to them. Whomever might hold the keys...

15/10/12017

  • In a show of force and to strengthen its claim as the protector of Teorion, the Hishia Fortune Solutions has developed the heavy fighter Gayasudama S19. While it can't compete with the best of the region, it can hold off most pirate incursions from the lesser organized systems below Hishia. Together with their flagship, the Ishiomitaku, the conglomerate is willing to make invaders pay the price. It should serve as a deterrent at least.

14/10/12017

  • With the Hishia Fortune Solutions stepping up to defend the upper bridge into Teorion, another major power has entered the picture of the anomaly. However, this one is clearly interested in keeping the money flowing and less in open warfare to stiffle it. It is expected that the corporation might soon need to back up its claim, as the Gekan Brotherhood surely set sight on them and their riches. Only time will tell if the two find common ground or common greed.

13/10/12017

  • The Canopus Confederacy unveiled their newest civil transporter, the Rabirado S20. It is the best medium shuttle of the region and impressed friends and foes alike. While they also presented minor improvements to the Sashiyazu S32, their medium fighter, and the Kumanoyama-class flagship, all know its true might and are not concerned with minor improvements. Their power lies with their exotic ship, the Joyohara S51 which they build with Atlas technology after the First Spawn rebellions.
  • In an effort to up the ante of the recent arms race and to impress their wayward cousins in Canopus, the Vasho Ascendancy has conducted a military maneuver with their newest designs. The Odegatam S64 and their destroyer Wakayamer would now serve alongside their flagship and dreadnought. While people still call upon pride to be hurt, others consider this a faux for the ascendancy to arm itself. The region is worried if they might soon see their first major war and people call upon The Contingency to be prepared.

12/10/12017

  • After their recent subjugation of Anotchi, the Crimson Raiders have established a new system of merit among their kind. Space battles financed by the Mercenaries Guild's Farmers With Lasers weren't a new thing. Now however they are used for a selection process for worthy pilots, no matter their origin. As even outsiders have gotten recognition during battles and the Gek have proven themselves industrious perfectionists in shipdesign, the Vy'keen have taken a liking to their new partners. In the end there is always a better way to fight and die than in the old Sahikika. A local Gek technitian aboard Papako's space station oversaw the new design of an old and useless fighter, the Ochinoku S45. Now its firepower rivals the Maynard, even though it can't take the same beating. Nonetheless, the Crimson Raiders were impressed and decided to request a new wing fully equipped with the new ship. A dangerous partnership for the eastern anomaly has been established.
  • The system of Amste under Prefect Qinzuxia has sworn fealthy to the Crimson Raiders in their renewed attempt to control the local clusters. They were impressed after a recent tournament against them.

11/10/12017

  • In their continuous effort to push the sentinels out of Lodes and fully reclaim their homeworld, the Vasho Ascendancy has deployed the capital ship VAS Shrike. However, its recent deployment has led to a renewed fear of the faux Gek corporation. As the ship has begun to tear through its enemies and secure the system, many observers note that this ship was build to crush its enemies, all non-Gek included.

10/10/12017

  • The previously impressive Handaita S38 of the Ancient Warriors has been overhauled to keep up in the current arms race. With its superior firepower, sacrificed against some shield strength, this ship can most likely only be beaten by the most agile of fighters. The Abikoyer Collective assured that their new light fighter would be able to do so. Nonetheless, this heavy fighter could end many wars before they escalate and will surely cement the claim of the proud Vy'keen for their cluster against the Gekan Brotherhood.

  • The increased hostilities between the newcomers of the galactic community in the Forgotten Colonies has prompted the Mercenaries Guild to send the Guardians of the Horizon to secure the local black hole in Lobnin. While the conflicts of the region are of no concern in the big picture of the guild, this step is considered to be a precaution.
