iVc Alpha Beacon is the term assigned to a special star system known as iVc:04D7:0081:02A7:a. It is located in the Suzumondhen Expanse in the Euclid galaxy.
In the Pathfinder era, the InterGalactic Voyage Corridor developed a galactic map overlay using a IVc Quadrant Map which soon became standardized for all travellers, and is now known as Quadrants. In the pathfinder era, a concept to assign specific beacon systems was developed to aid in galactic map navigation when using Hyperdrive travel. Since the relaxation of Portal interference, this type of travel for long distance exploration is long sense obsolete.
The iVc Beacon / Quadrant system was inspired by Star Trek, sci-fi, and aviation navigational concepts.
The iVc Alpha Beacon has been named by the InterGalactic Voyage Corridor using Galactic Coordinates. The system name in-game is iVc:04D7:0081:02A7:a
The name signifies that it is an iVc system (iVc) : identifies the coordinates for navigational use (04D7:0081:02A7) : and identifies the Quadrant is Alpha (a).
