Updated Atlas Rises

Iron (Fe) is a common metal and a member of the Oxide elements class.

Summary[ | ]

In the early releases of No Man's Sky, Iron was the most commonly-used resource. It was used to build and recharge defensive technologies, fuel a ship's Pulse Engine, construct planet bases, and create a host of other products.

However in the NEXT release, the various forms of Ferrite (especially Ferrite Dust) replaced it in many blueprint formulas.
