Survey Device is a Multi-tool technology.

Survey Device is a Multi-tool technology and an upgrade to the Analysis Visor. It enables the Surveying Mode, a real-time terrain analysis to the scanning array.
Game description[ | ]
A self-contained circuitry upgrade for the Analysis Visor, adding real-time analysis to the scanning array.
Toggle between Visor mode with 1/3. Use Surveying Mode to detect hidden terrain resources.

Build[ | ]
Survey Device can be built using a blueprint and the following ingredients:
Magnetic Resonator x3 + Quantum Computer x1 + Wiring Loom x2 → Survey Device
Survey Device can be repaired using the following ingredients:
- Magnetic Resonator x2 + Quantum Computer x1 + Wiring Loom x2
Survey Device can be dismantled after construction, returning the following ingredients:
- Survey Device → Magnetic Resonator x2 + Quantum Computer x1 + Wiring Loom x2
Surveying Mode[ | ]
This device allows the player to look for Power Hotspots, which are shown by Electromagnetic radiation. Following the pulsing signals on the left and right of the screen will lead the player to these spots, which are marked by lightning bolt symbols.
Usage[ | ]
Use the following method to find a hotspot.
- Activate your Visor by Holding F/.../...
- Toggle between surveying different Hotspot types with 1 and 3
- Notice the pulsing signals. These will appear when the player is closer than 400u to a hotspot while the Visor is active. Turn around until the pulsing signals are both on the left and right of the HUD.
- Notice the distance value. Keep walking forward so that the distance value decreases. Keep the pulses centred.
- When the distance is less than 5 units, the analysis will start automatically.
- Click and hold the symbol to mark a waypoint.
You will need to purchase the blueprints for the respective device to harvest the different hotspot types. The blueprint can be obtained from the Construction Research Station aboard the Space Anomaly.
Usage warning[ | ]
Walk carefully. While distracted, it is easy to fall into holes, step on hazardous flora, or walk into the open mouth of a dinosaur.
Additional information[ | ]
- Operates automatically when installed and needs no fuel or recharging.
- When placed adjacent to the Analysis Sensor or other Scanner technologies, the player will receive additional scanning bonuses, although not to the Survey Device itself.
- Building this upgrade is also one of the steps of the secondary mission Industrial Surveying
- It is possible to locate the direction of hotspot from a distance more than 400u (This requires listening to the in-game sounds for the "ringing". When this ringing can be heard in both ears you are facing towards the hotspot)
