Request to add new civilization 01/17/2019

I would like to submit my civilization, Eissentam Confederated Systems, to the list of civilizations. I am not sure if I did all the pages correctly but I can make whatever changes are needed. I noticed an error on the Eissentam Confederated Systems main page, it lists Rociane as the capital but it should be Reume VI. Rociane is the Embassy planet. --Gb0721

COMPLETE - Mass Removal 01/15/2019

Was there a reason for the massive cut down of groups? If this is now divided in PC and PS4+ sections, I am not sure where the console site is. Not that I use a console. But seeing Cafe 42 removed etc. would point to that. Then again EPIC is still here. I am slightly confused why this happened.Thamalandis (talk) 16:28, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello Thamalandis, all civilizations that have not documented at least 5 star systems (since NEXT) have been removed from the list. The previous list with his points system did not prevail. All civilizations are still listed on the map. Artifexity (talk) 09:37, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Not sure what decisions are made where but I will respond for EPIC - EPIC edits on the gamepedia wiki, Cafe42 does not. They are two different civz and groups of travellers. I would raise quite the stink if anything happened to EPIC considering the time Captain Slade and I have put into it.Intothedoor (talk) 16:37, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Please note that this cleanup only affects the CivSpace page itself. Any and all information documented by any civ (no matter how much or how little) is still in place and can be accessed at any time. Also as Artifexity mentioned, they still are on the map and can be quickly reached in that way. The requirements for having a "text reference" on the CivSpace page specifically state that having five systems documented is a requirement. This was simply an enforcement of those requirements. A similar process is done anytime we move to a major new release in which all inactive civs (and by that I mean inactive in the wiki) are dropped on the new version of the page. Request to add a new civilization 01/14/2019

I would like to submit my civilization, the United Colonies of New Sol, to the list of civs. I am in the process of uploading all the info, but you can check it's page if you want to be safe. It is meant to be a hybrid research/exploration/construction/fanfiction type civ focused on expanding, conducting detailed research, and building recreational facilities and places for Travellers to stop and rest. COMPLETE - Requesting a minor change on the Eyfert Khannate civ description 01/07/2019

This is the new one:

The Eyfert Khannate is a fledgling civilization based in the first red galaxy, Rerasmutul. Its main area of control is the Tenhoe Nebula. The regional capital is Egionetsk and the seat of power is the planet Edaemon VII. The civilized space is based in the Tenhoe Nebula but the name comes from the region of Eyfert.

COMPLETE - The GRE is PC, not PS4 12/17/2018

So yeah, I just noticed that the little line for the GRE on the Galactic Map is a PS4 green as opposed to a PC Orange. Which I find odd, as the GRE is a PC existance, not a PS4 existance. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter, after all the Eissentam Craze is over, and besides the GRE, there really are only a couple other civilizations out there in Eissentam. Anyways, just thought I'd bring it up. Goodbye, Rockatoa, Brickticks out! Oh, and P.S. Does anybody have a Starmap of Eissentam that they could send me a copy of? Thanks, and by Starmap, I basically meant a civilizations map like the one used for Euclide, except for Eissentam, since, you know, Eissentam used to have one, but since NEXT happened, the number of active civilizations in Eissentam is so low, it doesn't have one anymore. I just thought it'd be nice to display, so people visiting Eissentam can find their bearings in relation to the remaining civilizations. That's all, Rockatoa, Brickticks out! COMPLETE - United Corporate Alliance 12/9/2018

"The United Corporate Alliance is a group of companies working together towards mutual business goals and to promote cooperation, growth and trade throughout the No Man's Sky Universe."

I've been talking to several companies on Reddit(Samone Corporation) and some Discord companies that aren't well known as well and I pitched the idea of a union of companies to come together and create a player based economy. Many agreed and are willing to join. I think we really should have a Company for individuals companies now. With this new alliance we would need recruitments and other things. COMPLETE - Companies and the Galactic Map 12/8/2018

I've been thinking of rebranding the Aviszar Cartel as a Company/Civilization. In reality we're more of a corporation then an actually Nation. However if I rebrand will the cartel still be listed on the Civilized space map? Thanks! The Godfather (talk) 05:15, 8 December 2018 (UTC)

At this point, the question remains undecided. We are just getting the Company categorization off the ground, and it may depend on how many we end up with. Right now I believe there are fewer than 10 or so. I see three options: 1) allow companies that meet the civspace rules for appearing on the page/map to show up there. 2) create a new Companies page and Companies map similar to civspaces, or 3) do not show Companies on the civspace map and if already there remove them

I already started listing companies on the civilized space map a few days ago. It's a first try. Since the Cartel has fulfilled the requirements for the recognition of a civilization, it can be made recognizable on the map both, as a Civ and as a Company. I just did. For the page itself, I would suggest granting the companies the same status as civilizations. Of course with the same minimum requirements. I really like option 2 with the creation of our own separate company page similar to the Civilized space page with the same standard requirements. If Artifexity is able(I know how busy he is always updating the map) he can create our own galactic map for companies? The current map in my opinion is become a tiny bit crowded and makes hard to locate civs through all the legend markers. This would make it easier for Artifexity and relieve his workload. COMPLETE - "One Civ Per Person" Rule 11/13/2018

Hello admins, I run the Aviszar Cartel with my friends over at Underworld Discord but we also have our own Hub specifically for the Underworld-Underworld Hub. I understand the one civ rule which applies to the Cartel and me but what about the Underworld Hub? Can I maintain both wikipages as "Civilized Space"? Since the cartel is our own personal civ, the underworld hub belongs to everyone at the discord we run.

As one of the admins, my opinion would be that the one-to-a-customer does apply here. If you have a hub with 40+ members (based on what I read), then one of them should be able to manage the Underworld Hub civ page for your group. I am not an admin, but as I read the Underworld Hub page it is a group of other civilizations, each member is its own sovereign civilization; making the Underworld Hub an Alliance of Civs and not a single civilization. If the Underworld Hub is indeed a coalition/alliance, then that makes a bit of a difference. I would then expect to see multiple editors making changes to it (or at least two <g>). I have no problem with you making changes to both pages, but it needs to be visible that there is more than "just the Godfather" at the helm! I am mentioning this because size determines how you are pictured on the map: Nothing against you guys but you can not be considered a HUB and secret at the same time. Its the purpose of the census. You will be respected as a civ regardless of your size (as long as wiki requirements are met); however, you do not gain the status of a HUB unless actual people are apart of your group and secret isn't justified. Personally, I think we should retire the idea of 'HUB' but that isn't my call. If The Godfather is the only documented citizen then you would be considered a solo civ; I think for you we need to adapt a 'secret society' or 'undisclosed' answer to civsize... maybe more discussion is needed. Part of the problem is unraveling the secret society (looking at your group of Families), because on one hand you are an alliance of multiple civilizations and not necessarily a civilization. This raises an interesting issue. If you look at the Civilization Categories page, the choice between "E" and "R" is clearly specified as being a best-guess as compared to a specified census. The issue here is not whether we have a HUB or a solo civ or somewhere in the middle. If there is no official census (for whatever reason), then the E tag is applied, no matter what category is selected. Having said that, if the size/category is used to make a idfference on the map, then yes, there needs to be a category of Undisclosed, with that civilization being displayed as a citizen base of one. I thank you all for your time and I understand where your coming. The cartel has now 42 members, our discord shows it on our page. Given how civilized space has evolved with NEXT in regards to governments we've decided to make our census private in case an enemy of ours declares hostile actions... As for our families, there sub factions that belong to the cartel. We operate under one name.

Just to clarify, using Discord (or any other social media platform) doesn't represent a true census, as anyone can subscribe without actually being part of the in-game region for a civ. It can certainly be an indicator, but the only census that actually "counts as a census" is one where the actual citizens are listed, along with their home systems. I've been cleaning up the map. Civilizations that have not made any changes to their pages for more than 2 months have been removed. Federation members were not affected for the time being. The effects of NEXT become visible. Eissentam no longer has a small map. Are you sure you did that correctly? You shifted a lot of coords that didn't ask for it. And you also defaulted EPIC and Cafe 42 into the FC corner. Aside of Epic clearly stating themselves being near the Center (160k ly), there isn't even a link to Cafe 42 on the Civ page...Thamalandis (talk) 14:47, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

When it comes to the map, Artifexity has carte blanche. This map is not specifically designed just for the wiki, but is a product of his work with the Federation (whose rules differ a bit from the wiki). I don't really care if Cafe 42 is on the page or not before they appear on the map. I checked their site directly. However they also gave Delta Glyph Coordinates... but they are not nearly in the spiral. Hi Thamalandis, I changed the coordinates and location of Cafe 42 and EPIC. To determine the position I use Pilgrim Star Path. All other changes concern the coords for the Image Map. I spoke with the ambassador of Cafe 42 and he confirmed the new position to me. Based on his information, I assume that EPIC will also move there. I did recheck the Cafe. I do not know why they want to move, but with the portal nerf their new point is pretty "isolated", so that might be a reason to play in peace. Based on the new coordinates it should be between Delta Polaris and Delta Minoris, so BELOW us. A 2D map doesn't show that well. IntoTheDoor seems to want to merge the pirates into that area too. So I guess it might be... they clearly don't communicate it well. Hello all (concerning EPIC and Cafe42) - I haven't checked the map exactly as to what was done, and I understand the civ pages for these (EPIC at least) hasn't been completely updated but since I am involved with these two I will say for a fact these are both over 1000k LY away from the Center in the Delta quad of the Euclid Galaxy. They have Regions that are touching. I know Cafe42 recently uploaded coords to their Home system, those are accurate, and EPIC is a neighbor. EPIC specifically was slowed down due to corrupted saves but they are rebuilding now. I will have pages for that civ created probably within a month hopefully sooner. Let me know if I can do anything to help. (intothedoor) - PS: btw this isn't my decision the leaders of these two groups have determined their own move. I am just a buddy and pal not the leader. PPS: Personally I wish we would retire the word 'Hub' but at the moment under our current definition, if Cafe42 and the several other civs that have merged in that area get their census data up to snuff they would be a Hub. There is quite an active group that has moved there (Specially the Cafe) but they use the Amino App heavily. Anyway, I wouldn't discount that group.

Since I made the extreme system's public I always expected some to move there - and some trolls naming system's stupid. Which did happen for Minoris indeed but none of the other extreme coordinates since the Euclid Size page was cut off and migrated before NEXT - thank god. I was never against people being there. However I am not sure if the Region is still correct then. They did go for the Koffee Band before. I don't think we had a Coffee themed region around DM, but maybe I just missed it. Either way, welcome to the Outer Rim, with the Portal's crippled, just don't expect anyone aside of friends coming over. This move is the Cafe's, and as you describe it, I believe that is exactly what they want... an area for friends. I am tied with the Captain of EPIC, and he is with the Cafe. It seems like a good move for them. As I understand it the Cafe is moving in people thru the use of Multiplayer, it could actually be a couple dozen at this point. I gained access right before they killed Portals, this way I can go between the Galactic Hub and EPIC. As for the region being correct, I am looking at the EPIC Region and Port pages right now; I'll have those done soon with images as reference. I welcome insight to anything you have to offer, we certainly respect those that have been here from the start :) (intothedoor)

I checked the history of Cafe 42 - pre last week - and the "new" region is the Koffee Band not the old region. So I guess it is around there between DP and DMin. That must have been one lucky find, but it seems enough reason to migrate. Not sure about the friend part, the region name seems very thematic for this and might be the main cause. Isolation is either a bonus or a problem. *shrug* I will check in with a portal tomorrow and set a DMin course to check out the exact locale relative to DMin.Thamalandis (talk) 05:51, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

It did lead to the Koffee Band and it is 11k ly away from Delta Minoris. On PC there is no one there though. So I kinda claimed it by being there first. I still named it Heart [42]. Done. Also use the center flightpath calculation to judge the distance of a system. Otherwise you see your OWN camera position, that is wrong. Always use the Center Waypoint option.Thamalandis (talk) 23:58, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

COMPLETE - Atlas Civilization 09/10/2018

On behalf of the CIAT Atlas Civilization reported, 15 registered solar systems, 1 of them named system for the embassy. As a member of a single civilization and founder of it, I requested the inclusion of CIAT Atlas Civilization on the Civilized Space Map. I also request recognition from the community as the Hub of the Gamma quadrant in the Isdoraijung galaxy. Thank you for your attention, help and speed in the answers.

Per your request:

1) While you do have the required number of system pages in the wiki, the following items will need to be updated on the various pages:

• Remove the boilerplate instructions at the top of the page
• Update the <Star system name> lines
• Update the Alias names section
• Update the Discovered section

You can use Alpha Canis Mayoris =CIAT= as an example of what needs to be done.

2) at this point, only Euclid has specified Quadrant HUBs. And even for Euclid, it is not something you can request, but something that is earned by general recognition of the NMS community. Thanks!

Somedays ago I discovered this wiki and the section "Civilized Space". I'm really fell in love with this particular type of association between players and with this way to see the universe of no man's sky, not as only a game but as a series of real stories (really fictional, of course:)). Update 1.55 turned the former capital planet into an extreme lush world, making it unsuitable for a capital planet. A new capital system and planet is found.

The Eyfert Khannate is a fledgling civilization based in Rerasmutul. Its main area of control is the Sasageid Band. The capital system is Eafort XVIII and the seat of power is the planet Gloss X. The civilized space is based in the Sasageid Band but the name comes from the region of Eyfert.

I can put your civilization on the map as a hub. Not for the page itself. Your pages are mostly from the Atlas era. So you are not yet officially recognized as a Civ for NEXT. COMPLETE - Requirement Clarification 08/04/18

The requirements for a new civilization are not very clear in my opinion. If you could clarify them here or on the talk page, that would be a big help for me so that I could work on getting mine added. -IchabodBrain (talk) 10:46, 4 August 2018 (UTC)

The requirements are as follows:

1) an embassy page is present in the wiki

if you select the link for one of the civs listed on the civspace space, it will take you to their embassy page in the wiki. You'll need to create one of these. There is a very basic format that you can select when creating a new page (it's the blue link called Civilized Space under Pre-built Templates), but you might want to look at some of the existing pages to see what others have used.

2) a minimum of five star system pages discovered by the civilization are present in the wiki (and in good order)

as a civilization, it is assumed you have explored/claimed at least five star systems. You will need to create a star system page in the wiki for a minimum of five systems.

3) the civilization's founder is involved only with the new civilization (basically one civ to a customer)

the same editor cannot be the founder-and-owner of more than one civilization at the same time. This helps prevent conflict of interest between civs.

4) an official request for inclusion from the founder is present on the Discussion page

once the above three items are complete, you can make a request on this Discussion page to be recognized as a new civ. The admin team will check to make sure the requirements are complete and if so, you'll be listed on the Civilized Space page, and added to the map.

4a) this request must be renewed whenever a major new update is released (such as from Atlas Rises to NEXT)

this is only relevant when an existing civ is switching from one release to another

Whenever a major new release comes out, we rebuild a variety of index pages for the new version that includes some general housekeeping. For the civspace page, that includes removing any civs that have either been specifically declared as abandoned, or have had no recent activity. However, we also retain a copy of the page to show how it looked at the end of the previous release, and then provide a link to that page at the top of the page in a disambiguation section. Vestroga is listed on that historic page, which is Civilized space (Atlas). Let me begin with an honest apology to the map creator, but the zoom might be ruined... With the timeshift in the universe (or rather reseed of major assets), the old homebase won't be used anymore. The new capital is now at The Fade which was established with the Outer Rim Expedition, so 1.5 million lightyears from the center. It doesn't go further... So hey, at least the zoom can't get worse! Coordinates 0FFE:007F:0FFE:PC. Accordingly the faction text would need an update but we use Delta Polaris and stick to Delta de jure, even though it would be multi-sectoral de facto.

Forgotten Colonies - Is a story and roleplay hub on the fringe of civilized space in No Man's Sky. It represents the distant settlements and factions striving for dominance along the outer border of the Euclid galaxy, the Fade. After the cataclysmic temporal anomaly, the rebuild remnants of the Outer Rim Expedition regrouped in Alpha Polaris and Delta Polaris to renew the discovery and study of the fringe and help the Atlas recover from its fatal circle of decay.
