Disambig This article is about the installed technology. For the unopened modules you can buy, see Thermal Protection Module (Heat).

Thermal Protection Upgrade (Heat) is an exosuit upgrade.

Summary[ | ]

Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat), contained within Thermal Protection Modules, are procedurally generated upgrades granting supplementary protection against high temperatures.

Upgrade properties[ | ]

Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat) function similarly to Hazard Protection but only protect the player from heat damage. Protection effectiveness depends on upgrade class (S-class upgrades offer the best protection).

The protection offered by Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat), unlike that offered by the Exosuit's built-in thermal protection, does not recharge automatically while in locations without a significant heat hazard. Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat) must be manually recharged as needed using Phosphorus (6.25%/unit) or Ion Batteries (100%/unit).

Up to three protections upgrades can be installed in the technology section of the Exosuit. Installing four or more upgrades in the technology section of the Exosuit will disable all upgrades of that type until the upgrade count is reduced to three or less.

Crafting[ | ]

Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat) can only be obtained from opening Thermal Protection Modules offering protection against high temperatures.

Thermal Protection Upgrade (Heat) can be repaired using the following ingredients:

Thermal Protection Upgrade (Heat) can be dismantled after construction, returning the following ingredients:

Additional information[ | ]

  • It is not clear as to what percentages of Heat Protection and Heat Shielding are given. All that has been observed is that the depletion rate is the same regardless of whether it is a little too hot or way too hot, and it is also variable amongst the pool of upgrades by an adjustable time-frame.
  • Upgrade bonuses trigger for Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat) if they are adjacent to Hazard Protection, Shield Lattice, Aeration Membrane, Suspicious Hazard Protection Upgrades, Radiation Protection Upgrades, Thermal Protection Upgrades (Cold) or Toxic Protection Upgrades, though these only apply in actuality to basic upgrades with a visible percentage.
